New Viceroy — Restaurant in Wales

Stopped for a takeaway on our way home as the reviews looked good. It was not good at all. The CTM was dyed bright red, really thick, like jam or porridge and very, very sweet. I have never seen or tasted Tikka Masala that colour and with such a weird texture. A tiny pot of creamy sauce was in the bag, that was tasteless too. I stirred it into the CTM but it did not improve the taste.The Korma also very sweet but with no flavour of anything, just bland. The 2 medium sauces for Lamb tasted OK but the one was just a pot of onions with hardly any sauce. The Dopiaza was the only decent sauce. It was really good. They did manage to cook plain rice and poppadoms that were edible. If I lived closer I would have taken the whole lot back and made them taste it. £30 wasted. While waiting, I tried to have a conversation with the man on the till and it was like talking to the wall. Zero interest in me and my questions about delivering curry. Try harder mate, especially as it was a Tuesday and there were just 2 people in there plus me. Horrible....

Rang at 18.35 to order food for delivery at 20.00. I rang 5 times as the food still hadn’t arrived by 20.35, was told the driver was there (he wasn’t) and that the would knock £10 off, I waited until 20.45 then rang to cancel the order. He told me they were very busy - which isn’t my problem when I rang 1.5 hours in advance. The driver then called me back saying they’d do it for half price, to which we advised we had already cancelled the order. He still wasn’t outside. Such a shame as I used to visit this Indian many times in the restaurant. Will never order from here again and will advise...

I took the family to the buffet evening (Monday) and wish I'd gone to my usual Indian restaurant. The place looked nice but that's my only praise, the buffet consisted of one type of rice and four curries all were unlabelled so I've no idea what they were supposed to be. I tried all four curries and think the chefs should be ashamed to call them Indian cuisine! there were no spices involved and each curry was flavourless, bland and the meat was dry. I won't be returning and I'm ashamed to say that I did actually pay the bill. On the plus side I did enjoy...
