Popped into the Tesco Cafe for a treat. The new fast-food style order points were ok, but there were zero options to customise my order. I opted for the pistachio iced latte and the chicken burger with seasoned fries. Nothing I ordered was outstanding. The fries were over seasoned and incredibly salty, the chicken limp in it's sparse duvet of breading, the tiny greenfly on the lettuce somewhat perturbed, the brioche bun as stale and heartless as my soul when I, too, worked retail. Thus, such experiences lie like dust on the forsaken shore of customer service and I will endeavour to shift my soles to more delicious shores. 4/10; barely mid food.

Food is decent, but the service has gone downhill since they introduced only being only being able to order at a machine.

Firstly, I've been told my clubcard can't work with the machines, so if I want the points, I have to take my receipt to customer services afterwards to get them added to my account. One time I couldn't get the free child's meal deal without a clubcard being used, so the member of staff used somebody else's card for my order! It doesn't seem a very satisfactory answer to the problem!

Today I visited and felt the service was poor. I ordered a cooked breakfast with sourdough toast and scrambled eggs. First I got my drink, which was fine, but I asked for a teaspoon, which was never brought to me (I had already looked if there was cutlery anywhere I could help myself to, and there wasn't). Then my food arrived with normal white toast, not sourdough, and fried eggs instead of scrambled. I told a member of staff, who just said she would "let them know" (no apology), but nothing ever happened.

These are minor problems but irritating - why give options with the cooked breakfast if you're not going to be given what you've chosen? As a busy mum, I don't get many chances to eat out, so this was supposed to be a treat for me. Disappointed.

This isn't a criticism of individual staff because they all seem to work very hard and be rushing around constantly, but the system doesn't seem to work very well and customers should be looked...
