We recently visited No.11 Restaurant in Ruthin for dinner and had a really enjoyable evening overall. On arrival, we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. The restaurant is decorated beautifully with a stylish, cosy feel. Although there are only a handful of tables on the ground floor, the space still felt open and comfortable.
We ordered drinks shortly after sitting down and then placed our food orders. We chose the ribeye steak and the steak and ale pie. The wait for the food was a little longer than expected and, with no bread or nibbles offered while we waited, we were definitely ready to eat by the time the dishes arrived. That said, both meals were presented very well and tasted as good as they looked. The steak was cooked nicely and the pie was hearty and full of flavour.
Despite feeling quite full, we could not resist trying dessert. We went for the sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate brownie, both served with ice cream. The puddings were lovely and rich, though the ice cream was not quite to our taste.
The restaurant is just as lovely on the outside as it is inside. There were a couple of small things that could have been better, such as no toilet roll in the men’s toilet, limited clean hand towels in both toilets, and a few empty glasses still on a nearby empty table when we were seated. However, these are minor points that are easy to overlook in what was otherwise a very pleasant evening.
The two waitresses who served us were both friendly and polite, and they contributed to a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We would happily return and look forward to seeing how the restaurant...
Read moreWe had heard such great things about No11, so had ro try. Service was not the best we waited quite a while to be offered drinks, and then took both food and drinks orders together, which the waitress managed to confuse herself twice with the order. Starters were cod cheeks, sticky sausages and bruschetta. The bruschetta was not what we expected, mini bits of more like French toast. The mains, Belly Pork and swordfish, the menu does not clearly state how the swordfish is served, with cold potatoes in a mayo, the menu says new potatoes, which we would have expected warm. There wre also capers on which were not like by members of our group. Belly pork was not the best that we have had, and quite small. One meal, the cook did not like the look of upon service, so srated it again and do we had to start before theirs arrived. Dessert were good.certain foods they had also ran out of, this should be mentioned when taking the order. We were never offered any additional drinks throughout the evening, and not asked when paying, how the meal was, if we had, we would have provided this feedback. Not sure if it was a busy evening and they need more staff, but service needs to be improved. Would go again and give...
Read moreThe setting is lovely; the location, the exterior & interior is wonderful. Pleasant atmosphere inside. Staff were friendly and speed of service was ok. However, despite the positive reviews, we felt the food was pretty mediocre and overpriced. It is advertised as an 'artisan' restaurant so it is expected to pay extra so your food's cut into shapes and stacked like jenga with a teaspoon of sauce drizzled around the edge, but the portion size really was abysmal. It was tasty but didn't blow us away considering the cost. The cocktails were good though. Not likely to return unfortunately. Wasn't awful but can find similar quality food with larger portions elsewhere...
