I came here with 4 other members of our family based on a recommendation from a colleague, and I'm so glad we went!
I'd heard that they "cycle out" their inhabitants from the local area so I didn't have massive expectations, but they were completely exceeded!
We arrived a bit late for the last tour at 2:30, but Lloyd offered to take us around anyway. He was absolutely fantastic, incredibly knowledgable, and seemed to have collected a lot of the animals and parts of the museum exhibits himself.
It's not the biggest place, but the tour enhances the experience 10 fold. Instead of spending a couple of minutes checking out the tank and moving on, you're given in depth talks about each of the animals in each tank, they ask questions to get you involved, and there are loads of interactive opportunities too!
We also got to watch Brad feed all of them and that was great as well. He was also incredibly friendly and knowledgable.
We had the best time and I can't recommend them highly enough. And the animals are cycled every 6 months or so, so there's so many reasons to come back regularly.

Read moreWe visited with my two daughters (3&5) and had a brilliant time. Sea life centre it is not so please don’t expect Nemo & Dory et al. It’s far better in my opinion, some interesting artefacts & bones from marine animals to be found nearby and then around 8 or so aquarium tanks with different marine life in each.
The key here is the catch and release, almost all of these animals will eventually be released back into the sea and replaced with others, what a great way to educate people and study behaviour without doing lasting damage!
Finally, our tour was taken by (I think - Joey & Abi), special mention to these guys as it’s refreshing to hear from people passionate about the marine life and with a knowledge that could answer any question asked of them!
Please visit and support this excellent attraction! We went on a rainy day but there’s a beach nearby and play area too so anyway...
Read moreI really like the Ocean Lab in Goodwick.. However, the service was very lack lustre last weekend! 4 staff on and yet the queue of 3 groups of seperate people/ customers, took about 10 / 15 minutes to serve. Admittedly, 3 wanted ice cream, so they were served by 1 staff member. Myself and the 3rd person waited a further 5 minutes whilst staff sorted out customers at tables. I felt like we were an after-thought and nearly didn't wait around for my 'delicious' coffee, which is what I always get served. However, I perservered, but sensed the young staff members were a bit fed up as they seemed disjointed about serving us customers?? It was about 3pm. Please don't think I am one of those terrible 'moaning minnie' customers. I just wanted to provide some constructive feedback, as I would imagine you think 'Customer Service' is key to any business /...
