We had a wonderful walk on Sunday morning from Lower Town following the marine walk into Goodwick and decided we needed a good breakfast to fuel us for our walk back. This café was recommended to us by many locals so we decided we’d give it a go. When we arrived we saw locals seated outside enjoying the morning sun after having a hearty breakfast themselves. This quaint little cafe is sited at Goodwick railway station and is decorated inside with railway memorabilia. I loved the statue and plaque in memory of the station cat outside. There is outdoor seating and plenty of tables inside. It’s table service and we didn’t wait very long before our order was taken. My husband ordered a medium full breakfast with extra black pudding and I ordered a vegetarian full breakfast with two mugs of tea, white and brown toast. The condiments were brought out with our teas. I was pleased to see that the condiment bottles were clean and free from congealment around their lids, a good sign. When our food came out after only a short wait l was happy with what looked like a lovely veggie breakfast and a good looking full meat breakfast. The food was freshly cooked, piping hot and good quality bacon used so my husband commented. My only negative (in my point of view being a vegetarian for 40 years and I did mention this to the chef and waiting staff) was the horrible superveg vegetable catering sausages. There’s so many great plant based sausages out there now and it’s a shame these tasteless full of mash and veg sausages were used. They reminded me of vegetable grills used for vegetarians in the eighties and nineties. Please upgrade them to a more tasty veggie sausage.🙏 All in all, this is great quality food at a very affordable price. I liked that you could see your food being prepared and cooked on site. It’s clearly a hugely popular place for food. Their Sunday lunch takeouts we’re constantly being picked up, we saw some of our neighbours collecting theirs and overheard staff saying they’d sold out of Sunday lunches. I’m grateful for full happy tummies fuelled for our walk home. Great service, thank you all. This will be a favourite breakfast café...
Read moreFirst time at the old station cafe in Goodwick. Took my parents for lunch I had the fish and chips and my parents had a breakfast option. Firstly, the staff here are really welcoming and friendly. The breakfast option that my parents had was cooked perfectly according to them and I could see that the ingredients were fresh. The bacon had a nice thickness and not too much fat and the sausages were definitely not catering sausages but certainly looked like butchers sausages along with the bacon. My fish and chips were substantial and stayed hot throughout eating, which you never seem to get at a chain pub. The only 2 downsides were no option for mushy peas just garden peas, and the batter was a little greasy for my liking. However, all in all, Great little cafe at the station in Goodwick Pembrokeshire. Price was also spot on in these difficult times. So all in all, big thumbs up from me, and I'll definitely...
