If you live in this area (Swansea Bay / Port Talbot) it's hard not to compare Remo's to the much better known Verdi's in Mumbles, Swansea ... they are similar seaside locations, similar fare, and both institutions in their own communities. I did a review of Verdi's recently and to be frank, the overall reason why I'm giving Remo's the full 5 stars is because they compared much more favourably in a couple of key aspects.

One of the key challenges faced by hospitality businesses is service, mainly because they cannot get the staff. Verdi's is quite plainly suffering from this, but somehow Remo's isn't. Somehow Remo's has managed to retain their best staff and even changed things up a bit so that they have more responsibility for creating the atmosphere ... before ordering was conducted at the desk, now it's a cheerful and pleasant table service. How have they managed to avoid this staff shortfall pitfall ? I can only guess but if I was to I'd say it's down to the manager, Nick, who has quite clearly incentivised his key staff thus encouraging them to stay and create a happy atmosphere.

The other five star aspect of Remo's that I want to highlight is the food. The ingredients are first class ... okay, I have read other reviews that concentrate on the high cost of dining here, and it's true. It is expensive. But there's a reason for that. And that's because good staff and good ingredients in this day and age cost more. They just do, and for me, Remo's is worth it simply because it bucks the downhill trend that so many hospitality businesses are...

The Remo's beach front ice cream parlour I visited was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello from the staff. They directed customers one way for the sit in restaurant or the other way to the ice cream display freezers. The décor was bright and colourful designed like an American Diner, and the view of the wide sandy beach and ocean from the outdoor seating area was breath-taking.

The selection of ice cream flavours was impressive, and there were plenty of options to satisfy any taste bud. The ice cream itself was creamy, smooth, and rich in flavour. I particularly enjoyed the Black Forest Gâteau flavour, which was perfectly balanced and not too sweet.

In addition to the traditional ice cream flavours, the parlour also offered a variety of creative and unique options with more flavour than days in a month, enough to give any repeat visitor a different option every time. An option of waffle cones or edible pots added an extra touch of crunch to the creamy ice cream.

The staff was attentive and helpful in recommending flavours and offering suggestions for toppings. The prices were reasonable, and the portion sizes were generous.

Overall, my experience at the beach front ice cream parlour was fantastic. The delicious Welsh ice cream, beautiful view, and friendly staff made for a memorable visit. I would highly recommend this parlour to anyone looking for a sweet treat...

Breathe taking view location on the beach puts you at ease straight away (eating your breakfast while gazing at the waves). Unfortunately my experience 14/09/22 was abysmal, I look upon with great disgust. I am disabled and require support though various aids and a person to help and support. Arriving at our table after pick from the menu we was alerted our server would be Katie. As we was greeted no eye contact was made at myself no smile as the rest of the party got to experienced. When it came to ordering my support worker asked to order for me ( I have mobility issues I can order with no problem) when food and drinks arrived, I would have liked the opportunity to requested a straw with my drink as it makes it much easier to drink from. I would have also like condiments with my food but sadly no eye contact was made so I could not request what I needed. This is not the culture of Remo’s and I have had many wonderful experiences with a great choice of menu. Sadly I will not be returning neither shall I be recommending. The therapeutic benefits of gazing at the waves was quickly demolished my experience made me feel not worthy, invisible and quite frankly Emty and I think thats really sad to be to me made to...

I go nearly every week since moving to Port Talbot and sit outside in there nice seating area with the dog with an icecream. The pizzas are epic, just avoid the really salty Classic Neapoletan Pizza ... really enjoy the Ice Cream selection and Hot Choclates. My family who come with me state there coffees are nothing to brag about. I cannot comment as I don't like coffee. The other complaint is just the outdoor seating needs sorting, I am sure they are safe but on first impressions I thought I was about to break it 🤣 Being that there is limited indoor seating, I think they should put more outdoor coverage, that protects you properly from the rain and wind. They always have amazing ice-cream flavours and they are stunning! Highly recommend.

Me and my friend went here for lunch yesterday and we both really enjoyed it. We turned up about 11.30am and there was a little bit of a wait to be seated but once we were the service was excellent and fast. The food coming out all looked amazing, we had soup of the day and a panini and it was yummy. Lattes and hot chocolates were delicious too. Seating inside is a great space and good atmosphere, also plenty of seating outside if it's good weather. Toilet facilities too and very reasonably priced food and drink for good quality. Will def be back.

Lovely food and great service. Children's pizza was really fresh and the cheese was melted to perfection. Skin on chips were delightful as was the cheeseburger. Only let down was the no table service to take orders, we had to order at the counter where take out orders were also taken, so a long queue of people on a sunny day. Maybe a separate service/till would work better for those taking away and those sitting down either inside or out. But overall we were very impressed with staff, food, drinks and dining area.
