Visited The Skinner's Arms on a week day so, mid winter. We weren't expecting much, but we ended up pleasantly surprised. The lounge was very warm and cosy, with a fire roaring away. The barman was friendly and cheery. Unfortunately, there is a serious lack of decent lagers, so I had to settle for a white wine. Having said this, it was a nice Pinot. The lunch was basic pub grub, but had no choices for kids, and only a small side-plate selection. We ordered Lasagna, chips and salad. Sadly, this pub lost a star for the wait for food. As much as we were certain this food was cooked fresh, we waited over an hour. My baby was bored stiff and cranky. When the food arrived, it was delicious! Chips were homemade.    Read moreVisited the pub today there were 6 of us and had the best meal of our whole holiday. Not one single thing I could fault. The Liver and onions were to die for and would highly recommend. The sandwiches were presented beautifully surrounded by salad and crisps and the Spaghetti my brother had was finished in no time. They were excellent value for money. The staff are lovely and next time we are up this way I will definitely be calling in again for a meal or two. Thank you for making us...
   Read moreIf youâre a tourist Iâd advise donât go here, as soon as I entered the bartender was extremely rude and was furious that I went to the toilet before ordering a pint. So I decided not to drink here there was 1 other person in the bar, atmosphere horrible and the staff extremely unwelcoming.
