After seeing some of the very bad reviews for this place, I honestly think they must be out of their minds because it was genuinely one of the best meals we've ever eaten. We booked a table and were one of about 4 tables in the restaurant at the time (we'd booked quite early at around 5:30 so obviously it wasn't going to be busy yet).

We ordered drinks and pickle tray + poppadoms which came out almost immediately. The pickle tray was one of the best we've had. Lovely mango chutney and the yogurt sauce was beautiful. The staff were even able to tell us off the top of their heads what was in it. We then ordered our main meals. Not sure how long they took to come but it certainly wasn't long, despite all the takeaway orders they were also cooking up (by the sounds of it, plenty of locals coming to collect takeaways who all clearly knew the staff).

We had chicken pakoras and onion bahjis for starters which again were fabulous. For our mains, we had butter chicken, chicken korma, lamb bhuna, and chicken balti. Every dish was phenomenal. One of the waiters recommended having coconut rice with the butter chicken and it was an incredible combination. The rest of us had pilau rice which was so light and fluffy but still so full of flavour. Other reviews have complained about how the rice is served on the metal platters but ours was not cold in the slightest. We had a gobi aloo to share which, when mixed with the curries, was gorgeous. Perfectly cooked potatoes and cauliflower in a beautiful sauce. Finally, we had 2 naan breads which were each cut into 4 pieces making it much more manageable. Clearly freshly cooked and wonderfully soft.

Of course, I have to complement the staff too. The two waiters who served us together were incredibly attentive and clearly very proud of the restaurant. Someone on our table dropped a fork and immediately a waiter came over with a new one. They also noticed immediately when someone's drink was finished and promptly came to ask if they would like another one. It was a nice touch that they had recommendations for which rice worked well with which curry as the butter chicken + coconut rice combo was to die for. As previously stated, they had a fantastic knowledge of the menu items and what ingredients were used for them. They took great pride in the fact that all food is cooked to order i.e. no pots of curry being cooked and then reheated, freshly cooked naan bread, freshly cooked starter dishes etc.

Overall, this was one of the best meals we've ever had. We come to Anglesey every year and have already planned to return to this restaurant. Like previously mentioned, I just felt so compelled to write this review as the bad reviews I've seen make absolutely no sense to me. Anyone who thinks the food is tasteless, the staff are rude, and the wait times are terrible must have been at a completely...

Even on holiday I cannot resist a curry night so I found a nice little restaurant on Anglesea

Interior ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A bit basic but the majority of seats are in a conservatory extension which would be nice on a sunny day. There are a few elephants etc around which kind of make sense.

Service ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Again nothing bad here just not special, the food did take a while to arrive but I think that's because they were smashing delivery orders all night long.

Food ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ A good solid meal! We had a few different currys including a lamb rogan rosh and a tikka masala which were all very good. The winner for me was the saag paneer, which was really creamy and delish! However the rice is served in metal platters which doesn't look good and because its all spread out it was cold the moment it hit the table.

Price ⭐️ So a mean score here but its more a lesson than a criticism, the simple facts are that if we had taken the food home as a take out we would have paid a third less. I just cannot justify paying over £30 more for the "experience" of dine in....

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love curry and I probably eat more than most so I have high expectations and unfortunately this just didn't quite meet them. That said, I would order take away from then if I was in the area as it...
