This is the first time we've been back to this restaurant since the first covid lockdown in March 2020. The food was good, but it needed more individual flavours for me to give it full marks. The Bombay potato for example had no heat to it as in chilli heat. We also had an Aloo Gobi and apart from it having cauliflower, the potato was almost the same flavour as the Bombay potato. The chicken dansak had no spicy chilli heat which is how a dansak should be. I've lived in India and spent nine years living in Kolkota (or Calacutta as I knew it) and spent time in Darjeeling, Kurseong and Nani Tal and know what a good curry should taste like. Having also spent many years in London where we were spoilt for choice and enjoyed fantastic curries especially in Southall. What I can't quite understand is why all the Indian restaurants up here on Angelesy have a sort of of perfumey flavour to all the dishes that I've tried. I don't know what it is that that they use which causes it but it's not what I like or think a curry should taste like. It's quite over powering in some of the Indian takeaways on Anglesey, but although that taste is still there, thankfully Taste of India havent over done it.
Portions were good and the price was very competitive.
I do miss the Indian restaurants down south and especially Southall where they make the best samosas that I've...
Read moreFirst of all, it was terible experince i never had in my life, not deserve even one star, it was my friend's birthday and we think to celebrate there but it was such disspointed and horrible experince The person name Sunny who mentioned his name he was owner and he dont knw how to greet and meet the guest, When we were ready to order Mr Owner comes to take the order and said that we need to order forcefully 3-4 curries, its resturant policy and nobody another guests were there, but he (owner) spoke with the rude tone and said you dont know what and how to order, its our choice what and how to order, such terible experince. We been there after long drive about from to london and he said i have problem with indian people, so than why you open indain resturant (Mr owner) ? Than we just left that place not good atmospher and force us to order curries such not good behaviour, Highly not recomended this place, stay away from this...
Read moreWe were enjoying a visit to Anglesey for the day yesterday and tried a couple of European restaurants, only to be told one was full and the other closed early. By this point we were really hungry so took a chance on this place that we just happened to walk past.
What a happy accident that was. The food was absolutely stunning. I’ve eaten out at enough Indian restaurants now… and I can honestly say it’s the best I’ve ever tasted. Every dish we had was absolutely delicious, from the starter to the curries and right down to the peshwari naan.
I’m surprised it was relatively quiet in there too. Prices were more than reasonable and the service was excellent, and with a genuine smile.
A bit of a hidden gem of a place and I’ll definitely be going here again next time I’m out for tea. You capped a great day...
