Probably the best cafe I've ever been in.
I regularly go to North Wales for mountaineering/ hillwalking and been through Blaenau many times but had never known about this gem.
My car broke down, so while waiting to be recovered the 120miles home, a taxi driver recommended this place to me and a friend to get breakfast.
We had their full english which was delicious. Made from decent quality ingredients, all cooked perfectly. It arrived hot, with nice runny eggs and served with a large side plate of toast. We finished our breakfasts and coffees and had to leave hastily so I didn't have chance to tell the owner/ cashier how fantastic it was.
The menu was simple but plenty of choice, and if the fry up was anything to go by, then it would all be fantastically cooked and delicious. The decor of the cafe is second to none. Quaint, bright (not overlit like so many places these days), spacious and well planned.
Service, by the way was also fantastic with a friendly, warm atmosphere, and a friendly warm owner who seemed to be acting as chef, waitress and cashier brilliantly, and looking not in the least flustered.
I look forward to my next trip to Snowdonia all the more now, because I know that I'll be making a detour to this place for another...
Read moreAbsolutely beautiful little cafe in the middle of Ffestiniog, so good that we went back for more on the 2nd day of our stay, food was presented beautifully, really good range of different things on the menu, substantial range of drinks, food was perfection nothing was greasy or overcooked, portion size was spot on, loved that you got a little star shaped piece of fried bread as i often find a whole piece too much and the most perfect fried runny eggs!!! The young staff were so helpful and friendly and the chef also came out to say hello and goodbye and to check everything was okay, 100% would recommend this to anyone passing through or staying in Ffestiniog, one of the best places we have ever eaten at whilst on holiday in Wales, thank...

My friend had to go outside to make a phone call, on his way he reminded the lad that we hadn't had our toast. Another wait and it eventually arrived but both lots were dripping in butter, I didn't accept them and said don't bother. He obviously didn't understand my South Wales dialect of English, but later was chatting happily to a local Scouse accented man. The food we did have was lovely, pity for the lads inattentiveness. We will find somewhere...
