We were on a 3 peaks challenge and stayed in the town for the night. Having gone to another pub in the area we were recommended by a regular to try this place, and boy, we were so glad we did. The Land Lord and Land lady were sooooo lovely as well as all the regulars. Being from London and of Indian decent we thought we might get a cold receoption, how far wrong we were. Everyone was warm and embrassing. The most amazing thing was this place was recently taken over by the current owners, who themselves are English they have engaged with the community with such great depth that and have so lovingly restored this place with such passion and pride that it really shines through. On the day there was a pub quiz going on, we had intended to leave after an hour but had such fun that we were the last to leave!!!! Oh and we were last in the quiz!!! Loved thjs gem...
