Arrived at around 3.00 on Sunday and pub was quiet. We were immediately greeted and shown to the bar area as was told other areas were booked. We could see some reserved signs. So happily sat down. But would have preferred the lounge if offered as is nicer. Other walk ins arrived after and two couples were seated in this area so a bit frustrating.

I ordered the prawn cocktail and the beef dinner. My partner ordered curry. The menu stated curry with poppadom, plain or garlic nan, which suggested you get both and choice of nan. But was told you just get one.

We know the pub and have been before as we do like the food generally. Its homecooked style gives it the edge over bog standard pub fayre. The prawn cocktail was nice, lovely bread and salad. The beef dinner was nice too. Lovely thick beef, veg, mash, stuffing and gravy. The Yorkshire was a bit pale in the middle, almost uncooked. The roasties the opposite they had the colouration and taste that they had been sat around a while and reheated. The curry was nice enough, but wife was not that keen but this is opinion I would say. Chunky chicken pieces and pepper made it look appealing.

Small things do make a difference would have preferred to give 5 stars but it wasn't quite there. I...

Recently had Sunday lunch as we have a caravan in the area. On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant young girl. Ordered our drinks at the bar and she kindly offered to bring them over to our table.

We had a prawn cocktail and garlic mushrooms to start both plentiful and delicious. I had roast beef and my husband had the roast turkey. All cooked perfectly and piping hot. The vegetables were fresh not frozen, mash and roast potatoes, homemade Yorkshire pudding, homemade stuffing, homemade gravy too. We actually could not believe how much meat we had it was just amazing and all their meat comes from the local butcher across the road Gwalia, absolutely delicious. Service was excellent and all staff were very welcoming. The whole experience was excellent and very good value for money.Definitely won't be our last visit. If you're in the area definitely...

What a wonderful find!. A lovely experience from the moment we were greeted. I'd recommend booking as it was certainly filling up late lunchtime. Dedicated Sunday menu but my husband really had only come for the lamb shank and although not on the menu he was able to have it. My friend and I had the Sunday Roast dinner. 3 meats with Yorkshire pud, mash and roast potatoes with adequate veg delivered for all 3 of us. A fair choice of desserts but it was apple crumble all round to finish off. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and the whole place was clean. Its obviously a very well run establishment. The beer garden is definitely worthy of mention and probably another reason to go back. There us even pods with heating and lighting. We will definitely be going back for a spot of tempting lunchtime menu. Well done to all the team. A...

A lovely pub in Wales, a warm, friendly welcome on arrival from the waitress and landlord. There is a good range of traditional ales and bitters ,and a good range of lagers available, I settled for a pint of guiness which was well poured and tasted delicious. The menu has a good range of starters on offer and a good selection of traditional pub grub ,and a small selection of sweets. There is also a small specials board available. We settled on the lamb shank with mash potatoes and a selection of vegetables, the chicken curry with rice chips, and naan bread and a burger and chips they were all delicious and well presented ,we all left with full bellies .highly recommended 10/10

This place is highly recommended. We visited here with friends on Monday evening. We had a variety of different meals. Staff where very friendly and attentive. Children's meals are perfectly portioned and of great quality. I had the hunters chicken which was beautiful, chips are amazing just like home cooked chips. My partner had the burger and said it was really nice and tasty. Our friends had the lamb, lasgane and prawn cocktail they said they was also perfectly cooked, and tasted homemade. We visit towyn a few times a year and this will definitely be a new place to go each time. We can't wait to go again to try the Sunday roast and deserts.
