This place is always a pleasant experience. I've been here for food a few times, it's absolutely delicious and way above normal pub standard food. We came the other day and it was really busy, the bar staff told us it would probably be up to an hour for food, but that wasn't a problem, we expected to be waiting when we saw how busy it was. Unfortunately they had ran out of several drinks I asked for which was a little frustrating. The food then arrived and it was alright. I think because of how busy it was they were struggling in the kitchen to keep up and it effected the quality of food. It was a shame as normally the food here is excellent. I'm not saying it was bad but just not up to their normal standards. However I can't really complain because we had a 50% off main meals, so two of us had large platters that only cost £6 in the end. So despite my slight complaints I would still strongly recommend visiting the Haywain, I'm sure if it's not as busy you'll be pleasantly suprised by the food.

Went for lunch and was not expecting much to be honest. We were actually pleasantly surprised. Customer service was very good, nice, patient friendly staff, just what my dad needed as he does get a bit confused now. The food was a lot better than my expectations as I looked at the menu it was very affordable, so I thought it couldn't be that good, but it was actually really good and enjoyable. Disabled access is fine. No issues whatsoever. There are steps up if you want a window seat, but apart from that, it's great. It was spotlessly clean throughout and very relaxing. I suggest you book a table in advance as it filled up very fast and it's obvious why. Thanks to the staff today, you are a credit to the Pub.

Really did like it here, had a great selection of game food that really hit the spot, it was busy but there were quite a few things missed off the group order, no onion rings, and the chicken fingers compared to the photo were pretty funny but also disappointing, I'd love to give it 5-stars because everything was nicely cooked and really good price. But we're still missing food.

My Daughter my Husband and myself went for a meal. My Daughter and myself had scampi and chips. It did say that there were 9 scampi with chips and peas we had 8 scampi with chips and peas and there weren't much scampi inside. It tasted all bread crumbed.By serving 8 scampi instead of 9 there would be a free meal for the pub after the eighth meal. The waiter when bringing the food out said the other scampi and jacket potato was coming now. I said I didn't order a jacket it was with chips. He did apologise and brought the scampi with chips .My husband had baked salmon salad. He didn't enjoy it at all the salmon was very dry as if it were microwaved too long. We didn't go for the cheap meals but what we had was not even average. The only good point I can say is the glasses were lovely and clean which we haven' t had in the past.

I am sorry I have had to do this but none of us thought it was...

A choice of two places, as very last minute. BIG MISTAKE. Busy on arrival, found table. Ordered food, forty five minutes wait. Three of us. One having salmon, a lot of establishments presume everyone want chips. NO option for jacket or boiled potatoes. First meal came out waitress did not know what it was!!!. Took it back. Two meals arrived. Eventually salmon arrived on a HOT skillet, when customer, had mentioned to be served slightly pink, plate changed. No one addressed us to ensure everything was OK. A table adjoining us two had eaten, before the third was even served. Asked for a pint of orange juice and soda, informed by Robbie we do not do pint glasses of that, when we have ordered before. Will NEVER buy food from there again, especially when most comes out of the...
