Absolutely shocking! If I could give no stars then I would. I placed an order through UberEats which I have done and had problems previously with this place but thought i’d give it one last chance… I wish I hadn’t bothered! After placing an order and choosing the “Leave at door” option, I attempted to track my order but no details were given of the driver’s name or when it had left. After waiting an hour for my food, nothing had turned up and there was no updates at all on the app. I rang the restaurant to ask about my order and I was told that “it’s about to leave, i’m just waiting for the driver to pick it up”. I said okay and waited. However, 20 minutes later, still no food. I then received a phone call to say that their personal driver knocked the door and there was no answer so my food went back to the store and I was required to pay an additional £2.50 to have it delivered again even though there was no knock on my door, no phone call to say that it was at the door even though I chose the “LEAVE AT DOOR” option. Nothing was stated to say that they use their own drivers and not Uber drivers which I was confused about. I am disgusted with the way I was treated on the phone by Joey who informed me of the additional fee with a very impolite and rude tone. This company clearly holds no responsibility for their actions and no care for their customers. It is safe to say that I will never be ordering/buying from here again....
Read moreAwful food. £20 for vegan banana blossom, chips and a vegan battered sausage. I get vegan food can be pricey plus the Deliveroo charges on top. Wouldn't be so much of an issue if it was nice. I remember getting some banana blossom "fish" from Bristol years ago and the batter was dry and crispy (in a good way) and banana blossom was flakey (so can be done) so was excited when I saw this locally. Batter was so stodgy, greasy and congealed and banana blossom was so slimy it went in the bin. I'm not a picky eater but it's made me feel so ill, I had to throw it away. Also, the vegan battered sausage was not what you'd expect. You'd think you were getting a jumbo/large battered sausage as is the norm in a chip shop and I have had vegan ones from elsewhere in the past which are the standard large size. Nope, this was a normal sized Quorn sausage or something - well, on the small side of normal - 4 blooming quid. 🤦♀️ Couldn't write it. Got a partial refund through...
Read moreTonight i decided to revisit 'The Posh Fish and Chip Shop', i've had fish and chips from here before and was looking forward to it. So here's my take on my favourite chips, two small sausage in batter and gravy which cost £10.40 and i will list the pro's first. Good amount of chips Good amount of gravy Unfortunately the con's outweigh the pro's considerably. Gravy had little or no taste Chips were luke warm and poorly cooked, they tasted like yesterdays fully cooked chips heated up. Drastically overcooked sausages in batter, the batter had the texture and taste of warm cardboard and the sausages were chewy and dry. I'm not sure if salt is now an endangered species but i could barely see or taste any at all and i did ask for salt. Overall a poor example of "posh" food, needless to say i...
