It’s the second time that me and my partner have come to dinner here. First of all, we had booked a table for 7:15pm and arrived right on time. We were left waiting to be seated for over 15 minutes where not a single employee walking past gave us any acknowledgement. There were plenty of free tables around. Then we had to wait for a table to be cleaned for us as they were all full of dishes and needed cleaning down. We were told there would be an hour wait for food because they were busy which didn’t put us off so we ordered using the app. The selection of food is right up our street. However we waited almost 1hr 40mins for two burgers and garlic bread! Only to be told just before the burgers came out that there was no garlic bread left and did we want to swap it for something else instead, which made me wonder why they’d left it so late since we ordered to tell us this. The family sat next to us came at the same time a waited half hour longer than us too. All of their food came out at separate times leaving them to eat almost one by one. When the food came out it was very tasty. However it was Luke warm which we’ve experienced multiple times at this restaurant now. The sides we ordered as a replacement didn’t come out until we’d finished our mains. Drinks also took a very long time to be brought over after ordering on the app which isn’t unusual here. Although we were told it was busy, it had massively quietened down by this time and wasn’t any busier than other similar pubs we’ve eaten in. We sat at the table for about an hour and none of ours nor the tables around us had any glasses collected or dishes removed. So After the meal we went to the bar where it took 20 mins to be served because of the long queue where we noticed that the bar was full of dirty glasses and dishes. Also almost every table in the entire restaurant was piled with dirty dishes that had been sat there for ages. This was a similar experience that we had the prior month when the restaurant was practically empty. It appeared to us that the restaurant and the bar were either very understaffed or that the work wasn’t being taken seriously. Although not strictly the restaurants fault, there was also an altercation at the bar between the manager on shift and another customer that had a similar experience to us. The manager was quite verbal as well as the lady which wasn’t very pleasant for a family setting. Following our visit, I suffered an upset stomach and stomach aches that feels a lot like food poisoning. The only thing I can pin point this bug to is the luke warm chicken burger that I was served this day. I didn’t want to send it back because I’d waited so long for it in the first place! Read moreMy experience at this place is normally all good as myself and my family are regulars to go there today and having a meal then having a dessert which was a chocolate fudge cake also served with ice cream to receive this with biscuits crumbs which isn't STATED on the menu I then went and told the bar staff to her saying its ment to be like that to us replying we never had this before to the fact she changed it and then get served back the same with melted ice cream and crumbs hiding under the melted ice cream to which I knew a new dessert hadn't be prepared to then telling the bar lady again to her saying its fresh to me replying it isn't I can feel the crumbs under the melted ice cream and the ice cream is melted my 1st one wasn't served with melted ice to which the bar lady replied wellies next to hot cake I said to which my first one was and it wasn't melted she kept then telling me it's fresh so I then asked are you trying to call me a liar to which she stormed out to the kitchen to the manager CHRIS coming out whi is admant he OWNS the pub which I know he don't it's a franchise to him being VERY RUDE ASKING US TO FINISH AND LEAVE AND then invited myself a young woman outside which made me feel HIGHLY UNCOMFORTABLE AND VULNERABLE he said he witnessed what i done on cctv which I wpuld like to request a copy of that as Chris came out wiping his hand so doesn't look like to me he was watching the cctv accusing me of swearing at his member of staff which I didn't as I myself work within hospalitally the best this this pub could do with is work with thier member of staff about communication skills and having a new area manager managing the place the manger Chris is attitude towards customer highly stinks the food was amazing AS IT ALWAYS IS accept this once I want something to be done about this as I've never left this place VULNERABLE and scared as I was when he offered a young woman outside I want proof of this cctv as I know I did not swear at the bar lady and he then said she now outside crying I'm sorry for that but if the bar lady can't handle someone saying are you calling me a liar is hospalitally work really for her??? Chris is ment to take in the customer concerns into consideration which he doesn't he is very much Arrogant and over talks the customers ans won't let them have thier say! I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE if anything is wrong with your orders god help you dealing with Chris as he will ask you to leave and find alternative eating places he be littles the customers and I'm surely feeling vulnerable I never felt this awful in my life what turned into a nice place to eat to a place you'll feel...
Read moreGot a parking ticket for parking 2 hours and 22 minutes at this restaurant. £100 Fine or £60 if paid in 14 days, well I'll be checking myself from now on that's for sure, if a business is inviting you to dine and they have restrictions then the customer should be told! Where do I start, such a poor experience. First of all parking restrictions on a Restaurant car park? Really!! According to your parking on Google maps under the about section clearly states free of charge street parking & free parking lot! I'm disappointed now that I didn't check for signs when I got there but why would I after Google maps telling me its free!! We dined there for a Family Birthday, spent loads there over the years, and to have this fine come through my door is a sly way of making money. Members of the family like going there regularly and its convenient for me as I live in Nantgarw. it's certainly taken the shine off going there anymore, as now knowing you can't relax because you got to keep an eye on the time or do we have to book it in with the table! If that's the case then why didn't a staff member mention that when I got there, or even when I was paying for my food? The service that night was really appalling as we waited a rediculouse time to be served after ordering, under staffed and resulted in me getting a parking. fine, so if your food is taking forever to come make sure you keep onto them and query the parking or you'll find a parking ticket through your door. I also feel that a member of staff should have just said something about the parking restrictions as they where taking so much time to get the food to all of us and knowing that we been there all that time, just a simple mention would have done they came back a few times to say food is on its way so why couldn't they mention that even then I don't know, I didn't know about it obviously, as we've never had this happen before.
