The Railway Inn — Restaurant in Wales

We went here as a party of 10 of us for my birthday. We were 15 minutes early so our table wasn't ready as the previous people were still sat there. Wasn't a problem at all as we had bought a drink in the bar and was shown to a table we could use until ours was ready. Within 2 minutes we were asked to vacate that table and they wanted it for 2 people who had just turned up. We were then told we could sit at this other table and sit there while we waited.. within 30 seconds a diffrent waitress came and asked us to move again. Which we did. By this time the 10 of us had turned up and there is jus no room to.be standing about as its quite a small area by the bar but we had no where else to stand or sit. So that's wasn't ideal. Totally understand people who had booked tha table would have priority over the 10 of us sat there waiting for our table. But surely there should be a better system in place or don't make so many bookings at once to make sure you have room for.people who are already seated and for those who are waiting to.be seated. We felt a. It awkward as we were standing around the people who are eating. Very uneasy. When we were shown to our table the starters came pretty quickly as we had all pre ordered and it was all delicous. Our mains were the same all cooked beautifully. Desserts were delicious. So all in all a very nice meal it was just the waitresses didn seem to know what to do with us while was waited for the table to be available. Reasonably priced food I...

We came for food with our nieces and it used to be a great place to be. I know it read busy but if it is too much to handle when every table is used than they need to change the amount of tables. It started with getting soda water instead of a lemonade, honest mistake of the sirup is empty you won't see it. But then 50 minutes waiting for our food. In which we were asked 12 times of we wanted another drink. When we asked where our food is we were told "It will be made after the big table." 5 minutes later our food did arrive. Luke warm we could have complained but at that point it was 9PM and to be honest we didn't want to wait any longer we were ready to walk out. We spend the entire day out and just wanted to get our nieces feed and to bed. The quality of the food was not worth the wait and neither was the price. When I mentioned that the wait was unacceptable and the food was like warm was I went to pay. I was told "I'm very sorry we are very busy tonight." Well the staff had enough time for chats by the bay and to ask if we wanted more drinks.

I'm sorry to say that we won't be back and we won't recommend it either. We are also not the first to have had this experience but maybe when we go for a meal and pay nearly £60 we expect excellence and not something that tastes like blend frozen ready meals that my 11 year old niece could have heated up in...

I have always enjoyed my experience at the railway. Which is why I recommended for a family get together. Relatives from the cayman islands. We were shown to our table only to be on 3 separate tables. Although close together we weren't able to make conversation. We attempted to pull our tables together but were told on no account not to do that as the waitress wouldn't be able to serve. There was plenty of room. I'm a size 20 and able to manoeuvre easily and safely. We returned the tables as told but the attitude of the waitress left a lot to be desired. However imagine our surprise when the tables behind vacated and they were immediately pushed together for a party of 12. I didn't feel that the welcome was there as it used to be. Also numerous times we were advised we had a 2 hour window to vacate. I had to ask for extra cutlery for main course as cutlery had been used for starters. It was brought to table with a dirty piece of kitchen roll in the cutlery dish. Very disappointed especially as we hadn't seen our...
