Service was pretty poor, it was as if they did not want to engage in conversation and that made us feel pretty awkward. The service was rushed and brief. It seemed the staff tended to prefer the older individuals with very noticeable differences in service. For example, asking if they wanted top up on drinks etc. Whilst the food was lovely, I feel I was overcharged. £2 extra to swap my fries for chips?? I can understand charging the difference between the two which was either £0 or 0.50p, but not charging £2? Also, I was not told there would be an additional charge of £2.20 to have my gin with lemonade. When I nicely asked about this, the server just looked blankly at myself and said she didnt know. Its a shame as its a nice little place with nice food but I felt we were made to feel awkward. But I would not recommend the onion rings, it was just greasy batter falling apart with a slither of onion.

Food was absolutely stunning there was about 8 of us booked to sit outside and changed our mind we got sat inside with no issues everyone’s food was lovely and the staff were super nice making conversation checking on us with big smiles made us feel so welcome. I can’t have dairy or gluten and that was no issue at all they catered to that with ease super efficient will definitely be back new fav !!!

The Welcome Inn is the real gem in Swansea, home cooked delicious meals with a young and an amazing team of professionals, we were welcomed with great service and attention from the staff. The place is always so busy. Was there for lunch and as usual nothing was too much trouble for them, great place to go if you value excellent food in a great homely and friendly environment.

BEWARE if trying to book a table for a special evening here. Don't attempt to do it over the phone. I rang asked for a table for 21-22 which included 6 children. The staff member I spoke to confirmed availability and asked if it was a special occasion. It was for my mother's 102nd birthday with family coming from South Africa as covid had prevented a big celebration for her 100th. I was asked if I was paying the £5 per head deposit the day I rang and I explained I couldn't get there that day but would bring the money before the end of the week.

As far as I was concerned everything was in order and I went to the pub yesterday (Thursday so definitely before the weekend) to pay the £80 deposit. When I got there, after some hesitation, they said they had now taken a booking for 12 so were unable to provide our party with a hot meal only a buffet which was completely unacceptable. The girl I had spoken to on the phone said I had not asked for the table to be provisionally booked. As far as I am concerned my saying I was going to bring the required deposit within just a few days logically indicated that I required the table to be booked for me and everyone I have told about this situation is in full agreement and we all say common sense and logic has certainly not been used by the staff.

I will never use this venue again and am thankful that the Kingsbridge in Gorseinon who serve excellent food and have an extensive menu have been able to cater for us. If you intend using the Welcome Inn and don't want the issues thrown at me only go there in person and watch what they put in their book. Personally I wouldn't take a...

This establishment could claim a degree of seclusion, for despite being only a quarter of a mile from a main thoroughfare it is tucked away in a charming location adjacent to the Calon Lan centre in Llangyfelach. I attend here frequently, if not regularly as a member of the Morriston Orpheus Choir. This is not to say that one should associate the Male Voice tradition with a hostelry and its facilities, although some may claim there is more than a tenuous link!

Our choir rehearses at the Calon Lan centre quite frequently and it seems natural to gather at the Welcone Inn post rehearsal, to quench the thirst and lubricate the larynx amongst friends

The hall mark of this place for me is the outstanding welcome afforded us and the generosity of the landlord and his staff.

The atmosphere is informal and friendly with good food being presented at the drop of a hat , and always a smile.

There is ample space within the traditionally furnished, hearth warmed pub. Parking is excellent and should the sun ever shine in Wales again there is an outside space with seating to enjoy al fresco (good old Welsh phrase for outside!!) eating should you be so inclined. Yes - call at the Welcone for a taste of the name, which in Welsh translates to Croeso. Byddwch yn sicr ohono yn y llecyn yma. I am sure the choir would be pleased to welcome you too but check our website MorristonOrpheuschoir for ...

When you have a party of 16 for dinner and expect a fantastic meal from recommendations. I was personally disappointed from the moment we ordered our drinks. Started with the syrup that had run out on 5 lemonades. The drinks were changed, and as each drink had been repoured, to then hear a thud on the bar after every glass was a bit much for my liking. This then gave me the impression that this was just a bit too much of an inconvenience for that member of staff. We pre ordered all 16 meals to make life easier for restaurants. So when we booked this for a time, you would expect that this would hopefully speed up the service of the food. This then wasn't the case, to wait for over an hour and a half before we saw any food, that was not what I was expecting. Once the food finally arrived at the table, most of the part was disappointed in one way or another with some part of their meal. So, for me to travel over 160 miles to enjoy a family meal that was not up to good standard and to also feel that a member of staff had a bit of an attitude. Was extremely...
