The pub in genral is good, used well from all over the area. Just been taken over recently and tbh its going a bit down hill now. It was a Busy evening when we went as weather was good. Staff are very friendly but one waitress was walking about in uniform/black clothes.. but wearing a pair of Bright PINK Crocs! Not a good look when your serving customers ( one for the management there to address i think) food was OK, we have had better meals there but its a run of the mill chain pub as well. Some food we wanted was all sold out ( happens regularly) I had the oven baked Lamb kofta starter, which Tasted fine, but they we're quite hard as I think it was late and they had been sat around or in the oven and just dried out. My wife had mixed grill ( as lots of things were sold out). That came and was quite fatty on the Gammon and the steak. She Left half of it. The sausage had a hard bit of bone in it (not the restaurants fault obviously) she wouldn't have that again and sadly it was actually the first one she had ever had as well. So put her right off. I had the Ribs and chicken meal.. the chicken was very dry and ended up using Mayo to eat it and the "half rack of ribs" were prob a small child's portion. Tiny.. and that's NO exaggeration. Tastes fine though. ( mentioned this to the staff...poss the land lady im not sure. She was very apologetic) I'm Not actually sure what happened that evening as the food there is usually ok and we have often gone there for food as its our Local. Talking about it on the way hom, would we now actually go again for food ? Not sure. We will see! Would give it 7/10 ratin Needs improvement I think. Chefs home specials or items NOT on a chain pub menu. Makes a difference to a back street pub/restaurant. Keeps your customers returning. Let the chef free to help...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe pre-booked a table for eleven people, but had to change to 12 people. I used the reply mechanism in the original confirmation email to make the change, but did not receive a follow up email. So, I had to phone to confirm the change. I also made a note, on the booking form, that 4 of our party were vegan or vegetarian. When we arrived, we waited for a short time to be seated. On ordering our first and main courses, a number of dishes were unavailable, mainly the mixed grill. The food we did receive was good, though. However, one meal, which was for our strictest vegan, had to be returned twice, as it was delivered as a vegetarian meal, with cheese, the first time, and with sauce and salad, which we had requested not to be put in the burger, the second time. This request had been noted three times! Our family member was given a refund for this, immediately, but did not, then, have a main course, at all. Ten of us wanted to order desserts, but there was very little left of the desserts that were on the menu. So, only two of us had desserts and that was St. Clements tart, which was not even shown on the menu! It felt like there had been a problem with supplies to your establishment between Christmas and New Year. It was very frustrating, especially as we had booked a table two...

I have used the 3 Arches for many years, as has the family. Not anymore! Shocking food and service. Sat down and asked for the table to be wiped as it was sticky. Waitress vanished and never came back.... Ordered on the app and food arrives quick but with no utensils. We ordered a Beef Roast and Hunters Chicken. Asked for some and waitress never came back (waited around 5 mins) so went on a venture to find some which I did at the waitress station by the kitchen. Then asked another passing waitress for salt, ketchup and mayo. Guess what, never came back. This time knowing the location I got them myself after waiting a few moments. and then to top it off over half way through our meal and the drinks had not arrived. So flagged a waitress from earlier and asked for them. I thought she'd take this opportunity to ask how the food was but didn't (no one did!). In fairness the roast was very good but the hunters chicken was tougher to swallow than an IKEA flat pack table. I was wishing someone had asked as I left more than half on the plate as we walked out - - - - - STILL WITHOUT OUR DRINKS! Avoid! there are many other places on North Cardiff worth...
