Lovely pub very welcoming all the staff were really friendly and helpful, food was very reasonably priced, good quality and big portions and served very quickly, also catered for specific diet requirements. Children’s meals also big portions, couldn’t fault it ! Special shout out to barmaid Nikita who always goes above and beyond and gives 5* service

Had a wonderful experience at the Two Brewers Pub! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a classic pub charm. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious — hearty portions and great quality, especially the Sunday roast and the fish & chips. A solid selection of ales and beers too.

Southern fried chicken burger was a bit dry. Ordered additional beef burger for my burger but this was served on the side and was overcooked and cold. Kids meals were lovely albeit served after the adults which is a big no-no in my opinion. My partner really enjoyed her meal which added an extra star. Always a bit stingy with the mayo.

We were visiting Bridgend as part of our visit in Porthcawl. We decided we would visit The Two Brewers for food. On arrival there was no greet to seat us to a table, so we just chose a table and sat down.

When ordering at the bar, it was a moment that hurt my brain from ordering food to just watching the unorganised staff behind the bar. It almost felt like ordering food for a family of 8 was a huge inconvenience to the restaurant and this was evident in the delivery of service and food quality. We ordered a couple of starters to come out with the mains, yet these were brought out to us before the mains. These were then taken back out as we said we wanted them with the mains. These starters had taken about 35 minutes to come out. Then the food came out around 35-40 minutes later with the original starters that been brought out to us, these starters were cold, sauce had started to form a crust from sitting.

The food that had been cooked for the mains had clearly been sitting under a hot lamp for a considerable amount of time. Steak was like chewing through rubber, cold and dry. Other food items on the plate was cold, and dry. Hunters chicken had seen a microwave to reheat before being brought out as the cheese had separated and cremated to the dish. Adults tikka masala was the same size portion as the children’s Korma curry. Chips had clearly been deep fried more than once as the potato inside had almost disappeared leaving a hard crust. Garnish items were also missing off plates that were stated on the menu.

The service delivering the food was chaotic, was all plonked onto the table on a large serving tray, and not distributed as you would expect and seemed like a huge confusion to staff. Staff were huffing and sighing. When asked if the food was ok, we just agreed and said yes as it had taken so long for the food to arrive there is clearly no point in raising the issues to staff as this would have extended our anticipated short stay at this restaurant. And at this point we had already been in the restaurant for up to two hours. It would have been partially acceptable for the wait time if the tables were full of diners, but barely anyone was ordering food and I can see why.

The only good service I believe we had received was from a lady in the outdoor area, asking if we would like the bouncy castle up for the children. I suspect this lady is either the land lady, or just a regular punter but she was very nice, and very chatty with us which made the experience slightly better.

It’s evident that this is a pub, that is full of regular punters, as the service given to you is not the same. And it’s a shame, as this could be a very decent place to choose for food if you are provided with the right service, quality of food and atmosphere because as I mentioned, you seem like a huge inconvenience to staff.

If you are visiting Bridgend for food, then I would advise on searching the wider area to have a much better experience which is actually money worthy as this was a complete waste of money, time and patience and my advice to The Two Brewers, would be to give the chef extra training or source a new chef, and hire people who appear they actually want to work in your restaurant because the staff that was helping out the lady who took our order looked fuming each time they were asked to pour a couple of drinks for our order. In the long run this is going to cause costs to your business as you will lose customers.

If I visit Bridgend again, I will certainly read reviews for this place before even contemplating coming back to see if there has been an improvement and I suggest others do to so that they don’t waste...

Where do I start!

  1. unable to book table on line. When called to book spoke to a girl that had nothing but attitude.

  2. when entering with my artistic son and family we where completely ignored while a girl behind the bar carried on her conversation with two patrons. It took 5 minutes for another lady to tell me thet the girl could not serve. I pointed out that she could have informed me to where we where sat.

  3. when ordering food I asked if they had a vegetarian curry to which the lady asked the kitchen. She informed me that they had none so I ordered the vegetarian chilli. When the food came it was the curry! I told the server (the same girl from behind the bar) that my food was not chilli. To this this she insisted that is was chilli and what I had ordered. I told she take it beck to the kitchen. She was incredibly rude. I followed her and asked to speak with the chef. When the girl went back in to the kitchen she spoke about me in the most derogatory way. The chef refused to come out and they also insisted it was what I ordered. The original lady that had taken my oder also went to check as she remembered she was told there was NO vegetarian curry available. She then took a picture of the order off the till to show the chef I had ordered chilli. By this point my family had almost finished their food. I asked to speak with a manager and was told she was away. The lady behind the bar told me that she could refund my meal and the kitchen would cook what I had ordered.

  4. I also checked as to why there no onion rings on any of the ordered to be told that they had run out. I ask why we had not been informed of this and given the choice to change are meals. All I had was a sorry about that. When asked if I could have some of the meal refund as we where missing bits I was told no.

  5. I want back up to the bar with my card to get a refund I was told that the lady had spoken with her boss that lived up stairs and that she could refund my meal now and he would call me tomorrow as he was not prepared to come downstairs now!

  6. when my food eventually arrived it was far below standard. I have pictures of the "meal" that consisted of less than a ladle full of chilli to go with a full pouch dry rice. I also has the same pomper dom and 1/2 nan bread that came with the curry. I agian took this back and refused to have half a meal presented to me to go with leftovers from the previous plate of food.

I understand this is a franchise pub. I can assure you that if my name was on this pub I would be utterly ashamed not only at the food presented but the complet destine in which I...

Please do yourself a favour and avoid this place, complete shambles. We booked a table last night for 8pm their first available slot. We arrived at 7 55 . We were met by an unwelcoming middle aged rude woman who started to say we hadn't booked and were not allowed to have the amount of people we booked for, 4 adults, 2 young children and a baby. After a couple of minutes of not knowing if we were going to be able to stay, we were shown to our table. A young man came to take our order, he was polite and professional, didn't catch his name but the one with the ponytail, do yourself a favour and find an establishment that is more professional and who will appreciate you more where you can put your skills to use. We had our drinks in a reasonable time. That was the end of hopes and possibilities for the evening. The menu was good the prices looked very good, we ordered steaks, sauces, extra cheesy garlic bread, really looking forward to it. We waited for just over an hour before asking how much longer our food was going to be, eventually a man who had been behind the bar panicking most of the time came over and said we had been told there was going to be a wait for food, this was not the case, but never the less, how much longer could it be, only to be told our order had not been started yet and it could be quite a while longer. There were three other tables near us who had not had their food either. Why did you not just give us our cheesy garlic bread to be going on with. The place was not overly busy or crowded. There may have been reasons for this disastrous resteraunts inabillity to produce food and the staffs general lack of service and attention, it would be nice to know. After half an hour you should of updated us. As it was by the time we left hungry and miserable there was no where open for alternative food. So can't review the food as we didn't see any. We travelled half an hour to get there....
