1st Visit (2024)
This is a fantastic Fish & Chip shop! The chips, fish and batter were perfect and some of the best I've had around the country. They even use good sized forks so you can actually eat easily, unlike with those horrible small wooden forks supplied by many shops.
2nd Visit (2025)
The Fish and Chips I had were still very good. The batter on the fish was still good, but a little greasy. The Fish was a little thin too, so it seemed more batter than fish.
I attended on a VERY busy "hot" day, there must have been 20+ people in the queue, so it was a bit hectic for the staff.
One thing I couldn't help noticing while in the queue was the amount of large flies flying around the walls and ceiling, which kept landing on my head and other customers. It was a "hot" day, so the door was wide open, so flies would be expected. However there must have been 30+ which is a little over-the-top. There was an ultra violet electric fly zapper on the premises, but it was too far away from the queuing and serving area, which was where all the flies gathering. I feel at least 2 more fly zappers are needed on this premises to gain...
Read moreThe fish batter was amazing best I've ever tasted. We ate here twice on our stay, first time we were taken back by the cost, £27 for x2 chips and fish and 2 cans of pop.
I queried the cost, and was shocked at the temperament of the lady cashier as she was rather abrupt even though she had made a mistake. (Charged for 3 cans instead of 2) Still expensive lunch! Despite this we were very impressed with the chips and fish so it made spending so much, feel better.
Second time we ate, batter and fish still lovely but the chips were undercooked. And the staff were arguing the whole time we were there. Again the lady cashier (same one) made another mistake and we didn't get our small fish and chips. They continued to argue about it infront of us. Very strange. Maybe a family but none the less we don't want to witness that. The value for the food does not come close to value for what we got. Far...
Read moreA friend and I went to Aberdyfi for the first beach day trip since lockdown began. Since we were at the beach we decided Fish and Chips would be the done thing so off we went to look for a fish and chip shop and as it turns out Walkers is the only one on the sea front. Upon arrival there were a few people there already. There was a convenient and efficient as could be one way system through the side door and out the front of the shop. The shop counter was fully safety screened and all customers were wearing face masks which was good to see and made it feel it was a safe and welcoming environment. The menu was as you would expect in a fish and chip shop and reasonably priced. We had cod and chips and it was good quality. The fish was cooked well and the chips were good. We look forward to another sunny day in Aberdyfi and some more Fish & Chips; who know, I may even add the mushy peas on...
