I ordered a sandwich for lunch to take out as I'm working on site about 5 minutes away from the cafe. I ordered a tuna melt (tuna with melted cheese) for the 1% of the population, that don't actually know what a tuna melt is. I returned to site and opened my sandwich, I was instantly disappointed at the quality of it considering it cost £5.95. That's the same price they charge if you're sitting in the cafe to eat where you would receive a side salad etc, so no adjustment the the price for a taje away. It was the thinnest, cheapest bread you can get with a small amount of tuna, tonnes of red onion and no cheese to be seen. I called the cafe to complain and was told to come back and they'd make me a new one. I returned to the cafe and was greeted with a poor attitude from who I can only assume was the manager for the day. He/she/they had extremely poor customer service skills. I visibly had a face on me because I was wasting the 30 minutes I get for lunch running around wasting my time due to a chef not knowing what a tuna melt is. I caught her/him/they staring at me and shaking her/his/their head and I asked why. The response was apparently due to my attitude. I would never return to this place and would advise others to stay away. Poor quality, poor service and...
Read moreThis is a hidden wee gem, just up the hill from Meliden. I have to declare an amount of bias here, as Y Shed is dog-friendly and they welcomed my labrador with open arms - literally. The food is freshly cooked (snacks and more substantial meals), the coffee is freshly ground and the savoury stuff? My goodness, absolutely delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and delivered excellent service with a smile. Chatty and efficient. The layout of Y Shed has a modern feel. You can eat outside on a balcony or at ground level and indoor seating is available upstairs, with some having a stunning view to the sea. A lovely wee footpath runs behind Y Shed and provides an excellent opportunity to walk off some of the excess!...
Read moreExcellent place to stop and refresh yourself whilst walking the Prestatyn-Dysarth path. The views over Prestatyn and Rhyl from the cafe windows are great. The food fresh and tasty. The cakes are all homemade and although we didn't have any cake after our sandwich, we were given two melt in the mouth home made shortbreads with our coffee. Very reasonably priced too. The people who were there today were so kind and generous towards us - they know why - that we will be returning in September when we visit Prestatyn again. As for the grey containers, they are little individual units for crafts, therapies etc which makes for a nice little mooch. We wish them good luck with...
