Summary: Don't bother. Unhygienic, food all delivered at different times, and rude, lazy staff.
We went to Sultan's for a family dinner, but it was one of the worst dining experiences in Walsall. For starters the plates and glasses were dirty, with visible debris. We weren't given our drinks or cutlery and had to go and ask at the till because the waiters were stood around chatting among themselves. One of the four of us received his meal 25 minutes before the rest of us.
The waiter put my simple order through incorrectly and then when I politely told them that this wasn't what I ordered, the boy said "she's lying" in front of me and my family. I understand, mistakes can happen, had he accepted this was a matter of simple miscommunication and that he misheard I'd have been fine with it, but for him to mumble that I'm lying is ridiculous. It's so disgusting that staff have this attitude, the staff behaviour reflects back upon the owners, and this behaviour is appalling. There was no apology for the delay, no apology for the error and no apology the staff member who thought it acceptable to accuse a customer of lying instead of apologising for the simple mistake. The staff have no etiquette here, and are really lazy, which must be why they hadn't bothered to clean the plates and glasses. Not...
Read moreHad started to become a regular customer here due to the best lamb karahi, however went on Monday 21st September 2020 to find that the karahi had changed. Either the spices or the recipe or even the chef. The lamb karahi don't taste the same. It was the same after we complained. The managerial staff could not understand and thought it was no different to previously. Obviously, they have now lost their signature lamb Karahi that customers were going back for. Or maybe it was because it was a Monday... The guy at the till said he would sort us out when we come again however I doubt we will go back as he should have done something about it when I was there... not when you come again. The starters were ok and the slim waiter with the trimmed beard is very good. Update....Have been going back but avoiding the lamb balti. We recently had their special tawa and me my wife and daughter all suffered from food poisoning. This was after we waiting for our food for over an hour. I will no longer be going to this place as I don't trust the food has not been recycled from someone else's leftovers. The owner does not bother reading or taking these reviews seriously so this is for the benefit of customers. Would give zero stars (seriously,...it needs to...

Update - we visit regularly and have always enjoyed the food. A visit last Friday was very disappointing. The waiter Eesa recognised us on arrival (a good sigh) and predicted our order (standard small tava). We were very surprised when the food arrived at our table within 5 minutes (it usually takes a minimum of 15 minutes and that is when the restaurant is not busy)
The tava itself was luke warm, the grilled meats were overcooked and dry and the rotis, naans and fries were just about warm. The sizzle from the hot tava was not there and this could be seen from the raw onions which are usually browned due to the heat.
Between the two/three of us, we usually finish all the food provided. For the first time ever, we left most of it as it just wasn't palatable.
We did bring this up to the owners and unfortunately they shrugged it off and didn't really try to rectify what had happened or offer an alternative.
The only thing that we can put this down to was that we were given someone's cancelled order hence the overcooked food - how else can one explain the turnaround of 5 minutes from ordering to bringing the food out?
Sultans - I hope that you will take this...
