Probably one of the worst experiences Iâve had in a restaurant, I would genuinely struggle to put the issues into a single paragraph so Iâve decided to list them:-
When we arrived we patiently waited to be seen as the gentleman was on the phone, we had no issue with this, however when he came off the phone he ignored us and had to be asked by another customer to acknowledge us. Which he did in a grumpy and awkward manner.
We had our drinks order taken, initially no problem, my siblings ordered beers, I asked for lemonade and my mum asked for a rosé wine spritzer with lemonade. When the drinks arrived I was handed a coke, which I politely reminded was not what I asked for and the beverage was taken with no apology. My mum was handed a half pint of a clear beverage (clearly not a rosé spritzer) and when she questioned it was abruptly told there was no rosé wine and that she was instead given a white wine spritzer, again no apologies given. My mum decided to accept it as not to cause a bother however her and brother noted the beverage tasted like it had no wine in it.
Iâd like to note that later on in the evening my mum ordered a glass of wine and was, ironically, given rosĂ© wine. No explanation or apology was ever provided.
The food order went okay however when there was a bit of confusion, the gentleman who took the order became very obviously agitated and was quite rude.
Some of the food was not brought out at the same time as the rest (naan's and a second vegetable curry dish), again we would have forgiven this as we were told, repeatedly (and rudely), they were busy however upon gathering querying the whereabouts of the second curry dish we were told - âAnother vegetable curry!?â Followed by a dramatic flailing of the hands and a loud sigh.
Throughout the evening most of the serverâs attitudes were curt, abrupt and made us all incredibly uncomfortable. There was a lot of sighing, raising of hands and just a general lack of professionalism. We were told it was because they were busy but if Iâm being totally honest, the place wasnât even remotely full and even then, their attitude wouldnât have been appropriate.
By the end of the meal we were ready to sprint for the exit. We requested the bill and after some confusion (I think they got ours and another tables bills mixed up - again no apologies) we received the bill for the meal. Ironically, the gentleman who had âservedâ us went through tipping amounts and said I can pay gratuity via card or with cash. Iâm not joking! He literally leaned over me, pointing at the amounts I should add to the total, it made me very uncomfortable but fortunately my sister isnât as easy a target as I am so she took charge.
We at least tried to end on a positive and say thank you as we left, but were ignored.
Iâd like to add that usually we try to address issues with staff as they come up as we understand sometimes staff can have a bad day/shift and may not mean what they say or how they act however all of us felt incredibly uncomfortable, stressed and anxious and did not feel confident addressing said problems.
The only positive was the food, though I wouldnât have said it was good enough to warrant the treatment we received. We will sadly not be returning, which is a shame as we used to love this...
Read moreI moved to this area in november 2019 so almost one year ago. Iv been getting takeaways from here at least twice a week ever since. Everytime i get a takeaway its 20 pounds, which is unusual as my takeaways are never the same combination. I know im being over charged twice a week for nearly a year but the foods great and i thought it was only by 3 to 4 pounds each time which really didn't bother me. Then i sat down and went through the menu and iv been over charged by a minimum of 5 pounds on every takeaway for nearly a year, thats over 400 pounds in a year. So tonight i decided to test out my theory. I ordered chicken tikka biriyani and meat samosas which has a menu price of 14.20 on there website but again it came to 20 pounds. Iv been a loyal customer for nearly a year, having 2 takeaways a week and turning a blind eye to being overcharged thinking it was only 3 to 4 pounds each time. But it turned out it was over 5 pounds each time. Great food, great restaurant but for some reason they just decided to treat me like a...
Read morePushy waiter kept coming to the table seemingly trying to hurry us along, Didn't bring a wine list even though we asked for one, we requested a bottle of house white and a shandy, but had no idea of cost and he didn't tell us. Starters were ok but the when the mains arrived.... The plates were cold, the dishes were cold, the veg was cold as was the rice and the naan, and the main courses were no better than 'warm' We didn't complain because we were a bit cheesed off by then and it was unlikely we'd be returning. When the bill arrived it was £125 (for 3 of us)having paid that he came back, said he'd made a mistake and asked for a further £3, so £128 in total, thinking this was a bit steep we asked for a copy of the bill and guess what, we'd been overcharged by £23. He was apologetic but all a bit too late, even gave us a bottle of wine to take with us but sadly the damage was done by then,...
