Visited the Pear Tree Inn for the first time over the weekend during their Easter fair and decided to try the food after hearing they serve Indian. I went for the Tandoori Mix Grill. While the chops and wings were decent, the rest of the platter lacked flavour. The lamb seekh kebabs, in particular, were overcooked and dry. One thing that really stood out in a bad way was the tiny portion of onions on the sizzler. It looked like they'd only used half a small onion, which is disappointing considering it’s one of the most essential parts of a Mix Grill. On the plus side, the chutneys were tasty, and the Guinness was solid—even though a half pint came in a Fosters glass. That said, the price was reasonable, especially compared to what you'd pay in London. Hopefully, next time will be a better experience.

A good size carpark, check in at the bar, so leave your bags in the car as to get to the rooms is up a outside fire escape metal staircase. No info given but info in the room. Room(2) ok size, bathroom a good size too Bed was extremely comfortable the only couple of things that let it down was 1st no heating came on at all during the stay and it was cold at night and 2nd no curtained only blinds that still let a lot of light in as shown in the photo. WiFi was very good Evening meal was OK not much on the menuand a tad over priced for an Indian pub restaurant. There are two Indian restaurants just down the road. Lots of paths so good for walks and running along the cole green route Would I stay again and recommend YES 👍

Ok place to stay if you're in town for a couple of days. Rooms are clean but if you get one that's above the pub on a party night, you're gonna be bothered by the noise. My room was on the other side of the building so very quiet and nice. A bit humid, but it's the UK, not the Gobi desert, so what can you expect? The pub downstairs is OK, typical country pub with the typical fauna, didn't appreciate the minimum 5pound for card payment, we're in 2018, who carries cash anymore? Another strange incovinience is that there is no check-in before 14, as the pub itself opens at 11, so everything is locked before that time. Plenty of parking space on the property.

Firstly you should know that the rooms are ABOVE A PUB WITH LOUD FUNCTION ROOMS that go until gone 1am even if the function finishes at 11 apparently. So if you have needs like wheelchair access or have difficulty walking or in my case was recovering from a dislocated knee, it would be great to know BEFORE YOU BOOK that the only way to the rooms are via an outside, well let's call it what it is, a fire escape which would be treacherous if raining. There are no lifts and there is no warning of this.

If there is a function on, not only will you struggle to sleep but you may also struggle to even park.

The noise on the outside and below you is only further compounded by doors slamming shut as people come in and out of their rooms so your nights sleep on the concrete bed and polystyrene pillows will be further hindered. Yeah sure is has an Indian restaurant, that's all by the way, no other choices or breakfast options .....just Indian and yeah I might have a pub but honestly , do yourself a massive favour and book one of the hotels nearby instead for the extra money and get a proper sleep, proper beds, proper facilities, proper access to the rooms (the ones in the pics are the large rooms, the standard double is small and the shower is snug to say the least.

Holiday inn or whichever other hotels nearby are by far a better option.

I would have said this to the staff.....but there are none about in the morning and everything is locked and shut..... All apart from the housekeeping banging on the door like a bailiff at 9:30am!

Stop off for a curry and a...

The food is really nice but they make up delivery and collection times and can leave you waiting hours. If you call you get a lot of hot air. The lady who answers the phone has quite a bad attitude. It’s a shame as we like the food but the service is pretty shocking.

I’m editing to add some further context as again the response is not right. We were completely mucked around, my partner arrived for a collection that moved from 20 minutes to over an hour. I called to ask why you’d changed the collection time so drastically and you said you were busy. I then said ok I’ll cancel it as he didn’t want to sit in the pub for an hour, we have a small baby at home. The lady hung up on me. You waited for him to leave and for me to cancel the order to then call and say it’s ready now do you want it. I then asked for a delivery and you said yes with an extra charge, it took a further 45 minutes for the food to arrive. No gesture of kindness to acknowledge that this was perhaps not a great experience. This has happened before and that’s why I’m taking the time to rate. I think one time the lady on the phone in response to another huge delay and change in timings she said if she could teleport it to me she would. That’s helpful. It’s bizarre that you don’t know how to change the times on your own app so these confusions do not happen. But what you’ve said genuinely...

Exceptional dining experience at Pear Tree Inn

We recently had the pleasure of dining at the Pear Tree Inn as a family and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was impeccable, and the food was nothing short of exceptional.

A special thank you to Mia, Sagar, Shreyas, and Swapna for their incredible hospitality. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and friendly demeanour made our evening even more enjoyable. They went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and well looked after.

The culinary team deserves the highest praise as well. Head Chef Ram, along with Chef Sai Ram and Chef Suman, crafted an exquisite menu with dishes that were both beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The quality of ingredients, creativity in preparation, and perfect execution made for an unforgettable meal.

We highly recommend the Pear Tree Inn to anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a meal out, you can expect exceptional service and outstanding food. We will certainly be...
