Casa Carlos — Restaurant in Wigan

Just amazing!! We found this place by chance and we will definitely be going back. The food was so good but it was more than that. It had a really great feel about it. We went early afternoon and when we walked in, the owners were sat in the bar area and welcomed us. The waiter who served us was great. He brought the specials board and set it up at the table which was different but funny. He was very attentive and pleasant. The food was timed perfectly and was genuinely fantastic. Hake, gambas pil pil, steak, the potatoes and mojo was out of this world. We had the pleasure of meeting Carlos when he came over to check how we found the meal. It was nice to see how passionate he was about his restaurant. A perfect first experience there and we will be going again. Proper family business with a great feel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Cannot praise Casa Carlos enough. Right from being greeted by the lovely Sophia the atmosphere was second to none. Feeling relaxing, comfortable and at home it took me back to my many times abroad visiting tapas bars certainly could have been anywhere but Wigan Town centre. We were offered drinks then later ordered our food at no time did we feel rushed and our personal requests were taken into consideration with no fuss. Oh my days the food was delicious and presented so well and good portions compliments to Callum the chef perfection on a plate! Deserts were delicious almost too nice to eat as they were presented so well. As we wrapped up our dining experience we all agreed we would definately be returning . Staff were outstanding. Really quick to be seated, very attentive, we weren't left waiting for anything. Menu fantastic, what they do they do really well. So fresh, everything had it's own flavour that didn't bleed into the other items too offensively. Portion size is excellent, make sure you go in hungry! The garlic bread is outstanding. Prices very competitive. Cannot say a single bad thing about Casa Carlos. Wherever he is now, I hope he's proud of what the team are doing. They are certainly not doing his name a disservice.
