The beer version of the cocktail bar next door (same owner, and you can tell!) is another of the 'new' bars in this little town which is trying hard to reinvent itself. The town, that is, not the bar, which wouldn't seem out of place in any big city. They have a great selection of beers, but don't expect your normal continental lagers: this is more of a specialist beer place and they've got several on tap. They also have a decent selection of gins. They have gigs on (on a little raised corner stage) and it does get very busy. Read moreA lot of love, care and money has been invested in this new bar and it shows. Beautifully decked out, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and clientele NOT challenging you to a fight! There was a group of bikers in the second night I visited - lovely, friendly atmosphere. The beer is fabulous, and varied - but pricey. Can it survive in Tyldesley, on a site that has seen several different ventures fail in recent years (from the late, lamented Alladdin's through a Carribean restaurant and a fly-blown pub)? Prices reasonable , not cheap but not Manchester prices either.
