This isn't the first time we have come here but it could be the last which is a shame as it has always been good. For anyone considering coming here, please do as you may love it - this review is not to rant about how bad it is, just to give an honest experience. Food My partners Coke Zero was flat and tasted watery. We asked If there were any bottles but got told 'glass'. We ordered a replacement lemonade which was also flat. And the pint of Cobra tasted like it had been poured a few days ago. The onion bhaji was a bit dry and the side salad has a single ring of red onion. The mains of chickpea masala and rogan josh with lemon rice were excellent, can't complain here. The atmosphere is rather bizarre. Pink and White LED lights dangle from the ceiling in places, along with several plants lit up with white LED lights. An electric guitar sits behind a tall plastic plant. During dinner, the background music kept being interrupted by Paco Rabanne and Grammarly adverts, to then go back to traditional Indian music. On our previous visit here we dined to Kylie Minogue 'Can't get you out of my head'. It is hard to catch the waiters eye and they often seemingly, disappear and avoid eye contact.

We were excited to try this restaurant having heard lots of good things about it. We booked online and that was really easy. The restaurant was really well presented and there were lots of table options. We ordered and the food came in a. Good time. The sea food sharing platter was delicious. We had a lamb and a goat main course and they were both delicious. The meat was very tender and well cooked. We found that the portions were a really good size, and one rice and nan was perfect for us. The table next to us were taking home left over food in boxes provided which was a nice touch. The food was excellent we will be going again.

Probably the best Indian that I have ever eaten. It was the first time for me to try Indian beer and it was very good. I had the tikka masala with the fragrant rice. The service was amazing and so warm and friendly. I am Australian and there are a lot of Indians and restaurants in Australia to compare it to. Rimjhim was outstanding and I had a wonderful evening. I originally was worried about not being able to finish the serve but I ended up completely polishing it off!! I recommend this restaurant to everybody who lives/visits Winchester.

Ordered via Deliveroo, the food arrived on time however when it did there was a rice missing. I opened up the main curry dish thinking maybe the rice was mixed in and was confused as to why it essentially looked & tasted like a cream of tomato soup with four prawns in, when there was zero mention of tomato anywhere on the item description, and the ingredients that were mentioned didn't taste to be in the dish? I rung up, explained the situation and politely asked if maybe my order had been delivered wrong, to be told that they were very sorry and to make up for it they'd remake my order and deliver it right away. (Very nice gesture!) Strongly disliking tomato, having paid £10 for a dish, and still unsure as to whether my order was even correct, I politely asked for them not to remake the same and if at all possible to change it for another dish (of a cheaper price!) I was told that this was not a problem and was happy. They arrived and I returned the first dish intact, only to be lectured as to why I was wrong, that it didn't taste of tomato and have all of the ingredients explained to me as if I was an idiot? There was even a smarmy comment about but you're the customer. Sorry but this belittling was quite upsetting and tainted the whole experience of ordering. I opened up my awaited rice, didn't touch it as it smelt strongly of chemicals & the new dish was below average for the price. Never one to complain or write reviews but I was quite happy with the customer service up until that point and definitely won't be a...

I'd visited earlier in the year and found the food good but the service really poor. I had some overseas friends staying who fancied an Indian so gave them a second chance. This was a big mistake - the service was awful, which left me embarrassed for having suggested it. The waiter took ages to take our drink order and then when the drinks finally arrived with poppadoms, the dips took another 5 minutes to turn up. The waiter never returned and we had to grab one to take our order. This wasn't easy, they seem well trained in avoiding eye contact or hand gestures! (And we were sat in the middle of the restaurant). It then took over an hour for our food to arrive - and it was 4 really simple dishes. It was only after I grabbed another waiter that the manager wandered over and explained that the food was almost ready. It took a further 10 minutes from that point, so I imagine they'd completely forgotten about us and cooked it as soon as they realised they made their mistake. No apology at all when the food finally turned up, hastily put together with cold plates.

This was broadly the same experience as my previous visit, and I've read other reviews about the restaurant's focus on takeaways. I get the sense that if you're in the restaurant they take you for granted and focus on getting the Deliveroo and Ubereats away on time.

Won't be giving them a...

We came to Rhim Jhim's for 2 birthday celebrations, and the experience at Rhim Jhim's completely made the entire occasion brilliant. Firstly the staff were excellent, really friendly and couldn't do enough to help. We ordered curries for 35 people and they were all served at the same time in almost a military style operation, everything was hot and very tasty, fantastic service and always very friendly Secondly the food....WOW, everyone said how fresh and tasty and varied all the different curries were, nobody had anything but high praise for the tastiness, freshness and size of the portions, all in all everything was superb. Personally, I had the Chicken Tikka Madras which was amazing, such a lovely meaty taste with a beautiful sauce, and yes...it was hot, just right. Finally the whole experience was very enjoyable, a lovely airy restaurant, excellent staff, they brought in 2 birthday cheesecakes, which we didn't ask for, they sorted all this out themselves, candles on top and the staff serving us joined in with happy birthday, what a lovely enjoyable evening, which will last long in the memory. Would I go there again.....without a doubt, I would head straight to Rhim Jhim's without even considering othere venues, such was the quality, fun and tasty experience. Thank you to all your team for giving us such an excellent and enjoyable evening, best...
