I've been here a few times now, as family are close by it's lovely to go to afternoon tea, and similarly just as nice to go to a place you know. This is normally due to the awareness of high standards in both food and service.

The customer service on my last visit was fine, we went at a busy period so everyone was running around with pots of tea and such. Lovely smiley waitress, cannot fault.

The food however was disappointing. The scones were very dry, and so the edges had to be left, otherwise you'd be left dehydrated. They were maybe a day old, but I would not be surprised if they were older. Other tables did seem to have fresh ones, so maybe 2.30pm was too early to get the baked on the day scones.

The gingerbread cake was lovely tasting, but I'd also be surprised if this was baked on the day as advertised.

Pots of tea were lovely, cannot fault, apart from the coating of dust on top of the pot, as it was a busy sunny day I was surprised this tea pot hadn't been used that day, but nevertheless it should have been wiped down pre-use.

There are other tea rooms within walking distance which we may try in the future, but would be disappointing to find out standards are...

We are not local, so we are not here weekly, so we don't know when it changed, but they have moved stuff about and re arranged the furniture, and it looks really good, it makes it look like its bigger somehow and it just works. I love how it looks behind the counter, too, all the jars of sweets and then all the jars of different teas, very smart. They have a large selection of freshly made cakes. The table next to us had these amazing cheese scones, which i plan to have next time. There is lots to choose from. My husband had a flat white, which he found so delicious he ordered another one. Sounds simple, doesn't it, but all these coffee places and the coffee aren't always great, but here it was, it was a proper coffee, full bodied and done correctly. The staff were very friendly and polite. I was very impressed by the new look and will be back when we are next...

I honestly never leave reviews so the fact that I am goes to show how amazing our experience was today! We came here this afternoon for a little tea and cake for my daughters 4th birthday! The whole atmosphere was so welcoming and friendly, as soon as you walk in you’re greeted with smiles. The lady (whose name I wish I’d got) is as having a little conversation with my daughter and found out it was her birthday today. My little one ordered a slice of lemon cake, all of our drinks came out and then the lady brought out my daughters lemon cake with a little candle in it, singing happy birthday!! It honestly made her day! And I was speechless at how incredibly thoughtful it was! I will 100% be returning and recommending. Thankyou for making my daughters day...

Absolutely must visit this charming delightful friendly tea rooms. My daughter took me on the 27th july and pre booked us a table for 1pm, for afternoon tea. Oh my what a delight, everything from the greetings, table service and the extremley fresh afternoon tea was an experiance i will never forget. Much better then the Ritz in london, at a fraction of the cost. Most enjoyable experiance and afyernoon. Massive thank you to Christine for her attentiveness and friendly smile, such lovely service and last but not least for the absolutely amazing Ginger and lemon cake that had just literaly been made, it was heaven. Thank you all so much. Will see tou all again soon. From Sarah and her mum

Lovely little tearoom on the Alresford high street. I had the Watercress afternoon tea but they allowed me to change to the egg and watercress sandwich to another on their menu - it'd be nice if this had been an option from the off, but no complaints considering they allowed for this anyway. I loved the selection of teas also (there are about 2-3 pages of various blends and flavours); it really made it feel like these guys know their tea. Next time i go i will be bringing back some Russian Caravan! Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Our first visit to this sweet, friendly tearoom. We sat in the window to play a game, eat cake and people watch. The young waitress was very charming even though it was quite busy. My oat mocha was absolutely delicious, on par with ones I've had in France. It tasted like melted chocolate and had the consistency of such. 10/10 for the bread and butter pudding. The husband gave equally high marks for the splendid chocolate cake, the maker of whom clearly understood that icing should be in near equal quantities to the sponge 😁😁
