The bar service was awful, no order of service or attempts to serve those waiting the longest inclusive of overlooking a guy in a wheel chair. A glass of bitter shandy that tasted like the smell of a damp mouldy cloth was returned for me only to be told by the bar staff that it was due to the lemonade being foul. I was then informed I could have a shandy with bottled 7Up but it would cost more. I agreed to pay for the 7Up for a new shandy for which I was charged the full price of a new shandy until I informed the bar staff that I had returned an undrinkable shandy at which point the cost of the new shandy was reduced to £2:10 to cover the cost of a bottle of 7Up!!!! Our first choice of meal was the black and blue steak, which apparently unavailable although other steaks where available? I can only assume they had ran out of blue cheese ,(despite a CO-OP across the road and a Sainsbury's next door). So we ordered the South Carolina steak and the lamb koftas. The steak was ordered as medium, it was so over cooked I could have soled my shoes with it, the side of sparse chips were warm and soggy as were the 3 small onion rings. My wife's lamb koftas (3) tasted fine despite being over cooked and crunchy. These were served with 2 very small pots of dips and most definitely the smallest pitta I think I have ever seen. The only other accompanyment to both meals was and in the case of the koftas a large amount of so called fried onions, under cooked and most definitely under seasoned. Will we return, not over my dead body. Did we complain about the food, no, why you ask, there are times when to complain serves a purpose, in that it may lead to an increase In service and quality and then there are times when to complain are utterly futile. This would have been a case for the latter, one of total futility. A word of advice for other's to...
Read moreStood at the bar for a while waiting to be placed at the table. We were sat at our table, although there was a sticker in the table with ordering instructions we weren't instructed that we had to order via the app but instead were given menus. About 25 minutes in we realised we had to order. Now, at the bar I was told table 24 but it was written as 11 on the table, credit to what looked like a manager who corrected the issue and bought our lemonade etc. Nachos were very powdery though nice sauce. The food was generous in portion and was ok. It was quiz night and we were sat under the speaker and could hardly hear each other speak. The lemonade was off and it was taken away but not replaced, though I can't quibble too much as it was free due to using the app for the first time.
So in summary, staff were on the whole nice and did work hard and clearly were run off thier feet for what was a busy night. Shame the website didn't state it was a quiz night and would be loud (if it did It wasn't obvious). On another night my review no doubt would be different so don't let that put you off trying this place, on my experience I just can't justify...
Read moreFirst this review is for the food & not the bar staff. A special mention to Tash who was 5*, haviving great customer service skills & went the extra mile to make my wife a special non-alchoholic drink. THE FOOD Ordered our meal & after 30mins sweing people who had ordered after us getting their meals went to enquired where it was, to be told it's on its way. Asked again after 45nins to be told that there was no order for our table & it must of been lost? An hour later the food came out my wife's sizzler wasn't sizzling (she was that hungry she accepted it) & my mixed grill arrived to be told by the waitress that it was incomplete & as the waitress put it on the table I noticed someone's hair on it. I refused my meal straight away & sent it back. I went to the bar & asked to see the duty manager to cancel my meal, who after listening to my complaint & checking with the kitchen refunded the cost of my meal. A real shame, to what should of been a relaxing meal out with my wife, who had not eaten for over 24hrs, due to a...
