Beijing Restaurant — Restaurant in Woking

Visited for a catchup with a friend a few weeks ago, and the service was absolutely terrible. Staff huffed and puffed when we asked for water top ups, and when we asked for a few more pancakes for the duck we had left. It was very quiet this particular evening & they kept coming over to ask if we were done but it was to the point where it seemed they were trying to hurry us out. When it came to paying.. on the bottom of the bill, it said about paying the service charge at your own discretion.. as we thought the service was pretty bad we asked to take it off and were told we HAVE to pay it. When I pointed out on the receipt where it stated at the bottom it was said to be our choice, the lady swiped it away and said that was a printing fault. Won't be going back!!!...

Sadly the worst takeaway experience I’ve had to date. Ordered based on a recommendation that this was a superb restaurant, however ordered takeaway for a birthday meal, and it was delivered 55 minutes earlier than requested. To add to the frustration they forgot the meal item of the birthday person, and after calling the restaurant they tried to offer a credit instead of delivering it. Then waited an hour for the replacement meal they missed and had to call again for an update - food turned up finally.

Totally ruined birthday meal, all food had to be reheated. Never ordering from this place again.

Admittedly they were polite about the error, however very disappointed for £72 takeaway; and the reheated food...

We had lunch at Beijing Restaurant and found the food to be very good—flavourful dishes served at reasonable prices, offering solid value overall.

Service was generally fine at first, but unfortunately became intrusive towards the end of the meal. While we were still nibbling and enjoying our food, staff began trying to clear our plates. We politely asked them to leave everything for the time being, but within five minutes, they returned and insisted again. It felt rushed and disrupted what had been a pleasant dining experience up to that point.

Overall, the food and pricing make it worth visiting, but the service could benefit from more attentiveness to diners' pace...
