I visited with my family yesterday. There were 8 of us all together, we spent near £90 with all of our meals and drinks. We arrived at 2.30 and we had 5 very hungry children who had been swimming all morning. We ordered drinks and waited...then a table who arrived well after us recieved two of their 3 meals first, so of course we went to see where our meals were... we were greeted by a lovely young girl called Cathrine, who is a credit to the company. This poor girl had to deal with a catalogue of failures. It had been 1 hour since we had ordered (now 3.30)and still no food..then a starter was served up (just dough balls) we expected our meals to follow straight after however they were another 15 minutes! Cathrine did do her best in trying to compensate us and offered us free puddings and a bottle of wine. Things went from bad to worse when one by one the meals came out...the chicken tacos my sister in law ordered were freezing cold...i asked for medium steak i recieved well done and it was stone cold... they gave one of our orders away, mixed it up with another table..one of the children's dinners was covered underneath with tartar sauce..the plate had not been washed..really disgusting. It was a shambles from start to finish. Im sorry to say this was not the 1st time this had happened..i have complained about food from here before but wanted to give them a second chance. There were several people who demanded refunds while we were there, for the same delay in recieving food. Cathrine handled everything professionally and we felt we were listened to and not fobbed off...we recieved a partial refund for the food that was cold etc. This service however is NOT acceptable. Why does this continue to happen? We will not be returning to eat food which is a shame as we found the atmosphere friendly and relaxed. Please sort the kitchen staff out and also the young guy waiting tables who would give learch a run for his money...a snail would have moved quicker... there is obviously a breakdown in communication from front of house to kitchen. This is not just the 'chef' having a bad day, this is a continuing problem that...

Not dog friendly despite it clearly stating otherwise on their website!!! In fact there is a whole section that goes into detail about how welcome your dog is at this pub. (see the pictures I've posted with this review)

Upon entering the pub we were greeted very bluntly and almost rudely by a large man behind the bar with a long beard whom said "you can't come in here with that dog" I responded by saying that the website stated quite clearly the contrary. His response to this was simply "well it shouldn't say that"

The website even states that it shouldn't be difficult to find dog friendly pubs, this experience proves the opposite!

I understand that sometimes the dog policy is down to the disgression of the landlord but I find it a disgrace to be greeting in such an unpleasant manner when the name of the pub (in this case "the spread eagle" in Wednesfield) is listed clearly in black and white on their website along with a large section about how dog friendly it's supposed to be!!!

Suffice it to say, we shall never be visiting again! Thankfully there was a much friendlier pub not far away with a much nicer atmosphere, staff and crutially dog friendly.

Myself and my family don't live far from the Wednesfield area, regularly go out on Thursday evenings for a meal and had been looking for a place to go that welcomes dogs. I think the second pub we visited will be where we go from now on and dog or no dog, we will definitely NOT be returning to "the...

Pizza was great. My problem is with the front of house. Drink had hardly any mixer. Staff had weak customer service, witnessed one member of staff be pretty passive aggressive with someone I'm presuming worked there but was off shift while talking about being paid incorrectly infront of customers. Maybe talk in private in the future, this made an uncomfortable atmosphere and I felt like this was the aim by said member of staff. Was not a welcoming environment, staff seemed to have a stand off attitude but love to stare and make you feel uncomfortable for no reason from far away but wouldnt dare to look at you whilst serving, bringing food or clearing plates/glasses off your table. Didn't stay long and doubt I will visit here again. Very disappointing. From working in bars/pubs for years being friendly is a part of a great customer experience. Could be a great pub with the right team in place if some of the bar staff didn't all spend there time standing around in the kitchen doing nothing while the kitchen staff are working which I witnessed a couple times as you can see straight into the kitchen from afew tables in the pub. Since coming here I've heard similar off other people, not impressed, think some better training is needed, start...

The food was cooked properly and tastes amazing. The battered fish had to go back as it was really tough but the staff were perfect about the whole thing. The place seemed very busy for 19:30 on Friday, lots of drinkers near people eating. Wasn't pleased about the fact that there wasn't any dough left for pizzas on £5 pizza night. I feel the stock forecasting could do with some work. I want to try it again when it's not as busy. Wasn't keen on the tiramasu, felt like I was eating a coffee flavoured crumpet. I want to try it again when it's not as busy.

First time going to a "Generous George" and I left feeling pretty confident that I won't be visiting another! Two mains and two cans of Tango came to an eye watering £32! I also found the portions to be small for the price. Ended up stopping at the chippy on the way home as the food wasn't filling at all. Nothing at all "Generous" about this place. They also fail to list the prices of drinks on the menu! (See photo) I'm pretty sure the food only added up to about £24, meaning it cost £8 for two cans of Tango... No wonder they don't list the prices!!!
