Good customer service provided, the waiting staff work extremely hard and always maintained a smile. The food ordered was of a good quality and cooked well. Order soup of the day and mushrooms for a starter wrong soup came out but was quickly changed. My daughter loves tomato soup but she is fussy and this was not the canned variety with no hint of actual tomatoes being present. She couldnt eat it due to the amount of textures and flavours- it was really nice tasting tho. Had sunday mains the option of Turkey as opposed to chicken frustrated the kids but with lashings of gravy i tried to disguse this and it worked. Everything was tasty and well presented. The roast potatoes were a little too roasted, my teeth refused more than 1. The missing star rating is predominately for an uninvited who refused to leave for the entire duration of the meal. The constant waving this fly away did become annoying he seemed to be too comfortable with his surroundings. I hope next time i visit he will vacated the premises. Beautiful resturant with a welcoming ambience.

We had our Christmas Day lunch here and we have been for Christmas Day there for 4 or 5 years this year however we found it disappointing. After our starters will were served our main meal the traditional Christmas lunch my sister's meal part of this was undercooked and she did complain to the staff we then asked for our coffee which was served in mugs and a large spoon not a tea spoon given. We left disappointed with the Springhill Penn with the food and how it was presented on our plates very untidy in our opinion there were too little staff to cope with the dinners. I did email the said complaint and received email back apologising and was informed all the food served was being checked and Andy did come to find us but we had left. We have informed them we will not be booking for Christmas Day lunch 2025 shame considering we have been regulars there for some time.

Visited the Spring Hill with my mom for a rare child free evening. There were a number of really nice looking specials on the board and an impressive dessert menu as well. I opted for the Cajun chicken pasta. It was a tad spicy for me but it was really enjoyable. It came served with garlic bread and really, the portion was huge. I only managed half and the price for the dish was pretty reasonable as well! My mom ordered the sea bass, which she has and enjoys regularly. We had dessert which for me was a sundae and profiteroles for my mom. The profiteroles looked really nice actually, and we’re presented lovely. The only downside is the car park. Spaces are a bit tight now but I guess that’s what happens when cars are getting bigger but spaces aren’t! Not a fault of the Spring Hill’s but perhaps something to consider if you have a larger car.

Just had lunch at The Spring Hill pub in Wolverhampton.... we haven't been here in a long time and thought we would pop in as they usually have a brilliant specials board. I'm so dissapointed with the service we have just received. Where do i start.... firstly we walk in and we are greeted by a young lady who asks how we are as I'm sure she has to do with every customer that walks through the doors at which I reply " we are good thank you how are you" the lady completely ignores me looks at my partner and just says "anywhere that is not laid out" I can't believe how rude and abrupt this was.... completely ignored me. Despite this we decided to stay as we remember how good the food was here. My partner ordered the seafood kebab from the specials menu and I ordered the 18oz T bone steak medium rare and 2 cokes with ice and a slice. The seafood came out and the prawn was so over done that my partner had to really wrestle with it to get it off the skewer the rest of the fish was cooked well but was lacking in marinade for her liking and the sauce accompanying the dish was mediocre. My steak came out and it was mostly well done and only medium to rare rite at the centre which was about 20% of my 18oz steak, not what I expect when I order my steak medium rare I want it all medium rare. After my meal was finished the waitress serving us asked us how our meal was and I conveyed all of the above to her, she apologised and i waited 10 minutes while I finished my drink and there was no sign of a manager to offer even an apology. Based on today I will never return and I will not recommend you to any of my...

We booked the Spring Hill for a birthday celebration on Sunday. This isn’t a place that we come to on a regular basis, I would guess we come about 2/3 times a year. We have always enjoyed it. But sadly this occasion wasn’t as good. Firstly the man serving in the bar was clearly not happy in his job. There was no interaction at all and at one point he rolled his eyes because I hadn’t made up my mind what drink to have, which took at least 10 seconds for me to choose. Had there been a queue of people I could have understood, but I was the only one at the bar. Then we ordered food. I had the roast with a selection of meats and the trimmings. The meat was dry and tasteless and not very warm either. Another one of the party had their food arrive only mildly warm. I had to send the portion of cauliflower cheese back because it was hard. It looked like it had been cooked hours before serving. I had a dessert which was very nice followed by a cup of tea. It came in individual teapots which was nice on the eye. But when I poured mine I only had half a cup of tea. I went to tell one of the staff and one of the girls looked at me like I shouldn’t have been there. I explained that I like a full cup of tea. The other girl filled the teapot with boiling water. So I was adding only boiling water to my 1/2 cup of tea. This made it extremely weak. I was thoroughly disappointed...

I would in fairness give 1.5 if I could. The service was very good, the facilties and ambience are fine but unfortunately the food is appalling. This is the 6th time I have eaten there over more than ten years. The only time the food was good was the first time. The last time I eat there before today was about seven years ago and it was truly terrible then. The bottom line is they need a chef who can cook. I had Thai fishcakes that seemed filled with wallpaper paste and I am almost certain were microwaved to reheat. A fishcake should be crispy with a light filling. The main courses were huge and again very badly cooked. Burnt and tough meat. No real seasoning. Mashed potato which I could swear was not real potato but reconstituted. Everything lacked seasoning and I am someone who loathes salty food. It is such a shame but this review is meant well. Get someone who can cook, please. If need be reduce the menu and portions. Most would prefer a smaller choice and smaller quantity of good food. Miller Carter down the road does not have such good service but the food quality is a...
