Went in after work and wanting a bit of me time with my family. Never been but I am a local so live nearby and always wanted to sample the atmosphere. My husband tried to order drinks and was met with hostility as the lady serving seemed to be in a bad mood. After saying to my husband that she doesn't make the rules she obeys them, the lady didn't like my husband telling her in a jokey way- to tell the manager that "serving 2 cocktails which must be the same" isn't customer friendly; the lady took offence as hubby said manager "was a nutter." The lady hearing it then changed her tune and said she was the manager and took offence to being called a nutter. Which brings the question why changing the rhetoric when suited? By the end I was told to : " go to Harvester" when I tried in a calm manner to say to her: there is a thing called customer service and....customer is always right but by that time she took my drink off me !!!!!! Gesticulating to go!!!!!! I found her uncooperative and not willing to help, spoke harshly without realising that these were adults not children and customers. Rest assured that I am making sure that I will tell all my friends NOT to go there, and a piece of advice: get out of this industry if you can't work under pressure and keep cool! Manners don't cost much, they're free! Awful experience, especially when addressing to my husband and behaving the way she did in front of my daughter and sister in law visiting from Australia! I was speechless! Never in my life have I ever been treated like this! Being told to go and practically took the drink out of my hand, almost! Who Does this in today's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHave been in a few times and it's lovely - if the manager isn't there. She's snarky, judgemental and unfriendly. Seemingly only to us. Took our young dogs in (18 months and just over 2) and became annoyed that one dog woofed when other customers entered. To clarify, this is a "pet me" woof, not an aggressive one. It's a Dachshund - they bark, it's a trait of the breed. After a number of comments over the past visits it peaked this week with being treated like children and told to move. As other customers would be upset by the dog barking when they entered. We were the 1st and only customers of the day. 2, 20 something men entered and didn't seem bothered by, or even to notice the dogs. But given that it's a "dog friendly" pub, seems natural to expect a small amount of noise? To clarify, this wasn't constant barking, but a little woof when new people entered, which we ended in less than a minute. After moving like we were told, we downed our drinks and left. Won't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely disgraceful customer service and treatment this afternoon, even if it did all begin with miscommunication with my Brother whilst he was ordering us drinks namely cocktails. I have never been told aggresively to go elsewhere (The Harvester) and have a drink snatched out of my Sister in Law's hand in front of my 18 year old Neice. Clear lack of ability to learn and know an individual customer type in order to ensure that customer remains satisfied and happy to return to the venue on a regular basis. I am qualfied to comment on this after being in retails and customer service for 40 years....
