Secretly very excited for the future of the Cider Mill having popped in for a basket meal and a drink yesterday lunch time. Emily, Steve and the gang, the new owners, have already made it feel loved, with a lick of paint and some lovely simple upgrades. The basket meals were simple fare deliciously done and the portion sizes where enough but not intimidating. Really interesting gin selection and the pub itself has finally got a nice warm friendly feel. Read moreWe had the gluten free fish and chips. The batter was absolutely fantastic, the best I've had, it was crunchy and light and served really hot. Chips were lovely and the mushy peas with mint was fantastic. Our dog came with us so we ate in the bar area. Very nice atmosphere and couldn't be happier to have a local that we can walk to that serves such lovely food. Landlady, (I'm assuming?), was really nice and friendly, we were made to feel very welcome. Pub was quiet, it was Wednesday around 14:00 which is one of the reasons we thought it would be quieter.
