Not visited here since March 2020 due to Covid and it is a very large family friendly restaurant/pub which is part of the Farmhouse Inns group. Nice large car park and some tables outside should the weather be suitable. They offer breakfast lunch and dinner options all done carvery style but also other meals are available. We went for lunch and had the carvery but the meat was very tasteless and some of the vegetables especially the carrots and sprouts were well under cooked and hard. A few people also complained so hope this was an isolated case (see update below) The cakes/deserts are superb and tasty. Still worth a visit to make your own minds up but staff were very attentive on our visit in September. Just updated this (11th December 2022) after my daughter and family went on a booking with several other families and it was chaos, staff on the carvery were rude, heard swearing because of short staffing and meals taking over an hour and a half to come out for the children then for the sausages to be burnt and inedible. This place really needs for the group owners to take control and provide a better experience to customers as it never seems to improve to make you want to go back.

This place used to be really good value but has rapidly gone down hill recently. We've eaten here fairly regularly as they cater for a family member who can't eat a wide variety, but we won't be back! The portions have been getting smaller for some and and now the quality is awful too. The visit previous to this I had the house salad which was awful. The leaves were slimey and smelt rancid. There was very little else on the plate. We dined there again - one last try - on 29/07/23. I ordered the chicken combo - 2 chicken breasts that seem to have come from a pigeon and was tough as old boots, 6 small breaded strips that were like cardboard, coleslaw that was mostly mayonnaise, a side salad that wouldn't fill a sandwich, and some very watery BBQ sauce. Not good value at £13!! My partner had the all day breakfast- the bacon was burnt to a crisp, sausages cold, and the beans dried out! They seem to have a lots of new staff who are pretty hapless and if the chef spent more time in thr kitchen that chatting thre waitresses, the food might be a little better.

Was really disappointed in the service here On an fairly empty evening. We weren't greeted by anyone and after a couple minutes of waiting a staff member told us to sit where ever we wanted. We sat for around 10 minutes and not a single member of staff came over to greet us or anything so ended up having to order carvery via the app. The gentleman who served us our food was very pleasant and was the only staff member who was polite to us. After eating we decided to get a cake to takeaway. Waited at bar while staff members kept walking past us and didn't acknowledge us. I eventually asked for someone to serve us. Got the cake home and very disappointed as there is a massive lack of filling in between slices. Which is a shame because the display cakes look amazing but not worth the £6.29 I paid for once slice. Overall not great and won't return.

So - I'm leaving a 5 star review mainly because of the service! The first chap we had on the bar did seem to be quite unhappy, whose name I didn't catch, but my god I hope he's alright because despite my best efforts to be friendly & engaging, he seemed very low and unresponsive - we've all been there, so I genuinely hope you're alright my dude! The other guy was someone we chatted with outside who was picking up glasses - despite being in a rush & understaffed, he apologised for being a bit manic and was super friendly! The final - my fave - Wayne! He was incredible! I spent almost £7 on a slice of the toffee cake but it was soooo dry!! I really apologised for being "that person" when asking for a refund but he was so lovely and encouraged me to try a bit of a different cake - the Mars one! I'd even said that I don't want to be that person and just get more cake thay I might not be happy with, but after further reassurance I gave it a go and was so bloody happy - it was incredibly delicious, so moist and flavoursome, I was in heaven! After scoffing half of it, by the time I got home I was ready to demolish the rest 😈 We also had a roast but it did make me a little sad! The meat was perfect - even at the end of the night? What a treat! I was shocked to find the beef so tender!;But all of the veg lacked a lot of flavour. I completely appreciate it being cheap & fast food, but whack on a little salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary, thyme... whatever! I guarantee that roast would be a million times better and you'd have no complaints! Ignoring the lack of seasoning, I thought it was all cooked perfectly, the texture was amazing, the right amount of soft vs crispy! Loved the gravy, thought it was lush!! Overall, I thought it was a great experience with room for a little improvement on the food! Again, just shouting out Wayne for his outstanding customer service and ability to make a customer feel less of a cow for having to make a complaint about the food - as someone who works in a pub herself, not always...

Travelling up from Luton and staying a few days in a hotel that doesn't have breakfast options, we were looking for somewhere to eat. We stumbled upon Larch Wood Farm and were very warmly greeted by Jo. Absolutely nothing was too much of a request. My family are vegetarian so sourcing something for an 8year old can be tricky. Jo arranged for us to have freshly cooked vegetarian sausages. We asked for two each as our last experience was that they would be rather small. We were mistaken! They are excellent 👌🏻 Big chunky Quorn Chef Special sausages. The breakfast is absolutely brilliant! You can keep re filling as much as your stomach can manage... We were beaten! Plenty for the meat eaters too!

Jo is honestly so lovely! She recommended the carvery for dinner so we came back the next day with everyone. Absolutely delicious with huge Yorkshire's! The cauliflower cheese was particularly lovely! The chef was so friendly and kept the serving table impeccably clean! All the food was fresh and plentiful!

So day three of our stay in Kidderminster and we came back for breakfast. The most lovely greeting from Jo again and we got chatting sharing stories of how we both came to home educate. We will be heading back to the hotel after breakfast to checkout and then coming back whilst we wait for my daughter's dad to finish work to do some of our home education activities and learning. My daughter loves the play area and it has such a warm vibe in the pub. This will be our regular go to each week as we make the commute! What better way to start your day than with a mighty breakfast with friendly people and the most amazing cake we have ever seen! You have to come and check this place out!

Thank you Jo for being...

The car park and whole restaurant being empty at a peak time should have given a idea how bad it would be. We asked the server for a quiet spot, she first tried to put us in a booth that had a dirty table with dirty napkins on it, she tried to put us between 2 big families then gave a attitude when we asked for somewhere else. She told us to 'just go sit wherever' so we found a quiet area ordered food from the bar. I ordered the cheeseburger (on the menu there is no just plain beef burger) I asked for NO CHEESE, no salad and no sauce just completely plain, the barman even repeated back the order so I know I ordered it right. 20 minutes later food comes out and they give me a cheese burger so I quickly point out 'this is supposed to be plain with nothing on it' he takes it away comes back 2 minutes later asking if I still wanted the cheese and so I said I ordered it plain with nothing on it, I have to wait another 20 minutes for my food meanwhile the others I were with have their VERY meager amount of food. The food was mediocre at best, I could understand issues with my order if the place had been packed but this place was deserted with loads of staff just trying to look 'busy' some of the staff should have been cleaning the disgusting bathrooms if they had nothing to do. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone unless you want to be disappointed in the service and want to leave hungry from getting...
