The Rib crib — Restaurant in Abilene

We were in town for the weekend to attend a family function and decided to host 10-12 family members at our AirBnB for dinner. BBQ was on the menu, but from where? TheShed and Jay's BBQ close up or run out of food by dinner time, so I searched for a joint that we could call in an order and pick it up. We selected the Rib Crib and were pleasantly surprised. This is not a restaurant per se; there is no seating. The ONLY option is to pick up your order. I called in an hour before for our large order

The meat was excellent. This is a one-person show and she does a fantastic job on the meats and sides. The brisket was chocked full of flavor and the bark was peppery and smokey, which we prefer. The ribs and sausage were also fantastic. Don't forget to top your order off w/ peach cobbler.

Pick up orders only but you can call in first. This is the 3 meat plate ( brisket, sausage, pork ribs) with sides of potato salad, red beans, and collard greens and corn bread muffins. Dessert is peach cobbler. Amazing meal for my daughter and me with leftovers. Ordered and picked up at the front window and sat at a picnic table in the shade @ 4 with a nice beeeze while I waited. Brisket was my fav followed by ribs then sausage ( all delicious- as expected from checking out other reviews before picking this place). Red beans with cornbread was to die for ( wish I’d asked for onions😮… but I’m old school) I haven’t had collard greens in a while so wanted to try them and they were amazing, even my 21 y/o liked them! Best BBQ in Abilene! This sweet lady puts Joe Allen and Betty Rose to shame, seriously. The brisket is cooked perfectly, with so much flavor, juiciness, and love. Cost is great, I spend around $50 for a family of 3, two double meat plates, all the sides, fixins, cornbread, drinks and dessert. I have spent $80+ at a BBQ chain restaurant for BBQ that wasn't nearly as good. Our first time going there we didn't realize that it wasn't dine in, takeout only, but she was very friendly about it!
