Service was okay. Food was not that great. Management was condescending.
I hadn’t been to Papa G’s in more than 5 years and thought it sounded good. Restaurant appeared to not be busy for lunch hour. Waited 10 minutes to be seated, only to be told that we could sit wherever. While the server was nice enough, she was not knowledgeable on any of the menu items. I specifically asked if a lunch baked ziti could be modified to add meat sauce and was told yes. The lunch items run about $10 per plate. I added a salad which on the menu stated that would be $3.50 more with a lunch item. Food took forever to get to the table and it wasn’t even busy. There were maybe four tables that were occupied.
The salad was okay but my pasta which was actually penne was super salty. The pasta trio that friend ate was alright but anything with marinara sauce was salty. We finish eating and I asked for the receipt. This where I get surprised by the amount. My baked ziti and salad which I expect to be $13.50ish are actually $19.50 for meat baked ziti and $6.50 for my salad. I tell the waitress that I believe there’s a mistake and she tells me that she has only been there for two weeks and goes to see if it can be fixed.
The manager come up 10 minutes later and tells me that the meat baked ziti is only available in the dinner portion and that I had to pay the ticket as is. No apology, nothing to make me feel better. Never once did the waitress say that I was getting the dinner portion. If she had mentioned that, I would have just ordered it as it comes for the lunch and told the manager this. They could have at least given a discount or apologized because I wasn’t informed that what I ordered would twice as expensive.
I honestly wouldn’t have complained if the food was actually good. The fact that they charged $19.50 for baked ziti is ridiculous and $6.50 for a side salad is absurd. Especially when your consider that they are located in Ada. Those are prices I would expect in much bigger cities. Hell, my local Italian place where i live is not that expensive! Save your money and eat somewhere else in Ada like the Mexican restaurants or...
Read moreStaff was alright—other than than being greeted with a curt “can I help you?” after standing at the front waiting to be seated for a while. The food wasn’t great. Ordered the artichoke dip which was NOT what anyone would expect. It was okay for what it actually was, a veggie Alfredo sauce and if there were artichokes then they were pulverized. The food was cooked well, but the marinara had a ton of sugar added so it was super sweet. Not quite what I expect in my Italian food. When taking our orders the waitress asked “soup or salad?”. This prompted us to order salads only to find out later this did not come with the meal. It was an additional $3.75 and I felt like this was sketchy. Please ask if we would like to ADD a soup or salad to the meal. Finally, after we paid our checks there was an $0.80 charge for using cards. It wasn’t a lot added but it was the principle that we weren’t notified of the charge prior to the transaction so we could approve it or choose to use cash. Not a great experience...
Read moreI'm really saddened and disappointed with this experience, we really wanted to find a nice restaurant in town.
We sat down, it seemed nice at first... my boyfriend wanted to take me on a nice date, but this place, they cannot cook. When I figure out how to add photos, I'll do it in a heartbeat, but this food is disgusting. Actually disgusting. The plates are 20$ on average, and it's extremely inappropriate to serve customers, paying that price, this food.
Watery, covered and drenched in oil, its just ridiculous, my boyfriends food came with things on it that were not in the items description. Plates filled with liquid. My food came out and I dont know if they gave me the wrong thing, or it was just that disgusting, I sadly had to refuse to eat it.
Service was poor, the girls seemed like they were trying at least, but it still wasn't good. Forgetting to bring boxes, when other tables had gotten their items, when there was only 3 tables...
