Wow, the food is really bad here. My mom got pork marsala, and it was so gross. The sauce was so strong with wine and it was all clumpy not a smooth sauce at all. So she was actually able to exchange for something else and got fried shrimp with french fries. I'm not sure what they did to the fries but I'm not sure if they were even fried, possibly microwaved?? The shrimp were ok but a lot of breading very little shrimp. We also decided to try the sauerkraut, big mistake! I really believe they took it out of a can or jar and heated it up and that's it. The German potato salad was also not very good. It was kinda like smashed potatoes with way too much sugar and not enough vinagar but also didn't have any bacon or other flavoring. I thought I was being safe by ordering schnitzel, I mean how hard is it to bread a pork cutlet and fry? Well, it was so thin, about an 1/8" and dry like cardboard. I shows in the picture. Don't bother with fried calamari, you'll get a literal handful, and again it was mushy and not very good. The mystery of the evening was my daughter asking for curly fries and the waiter said, "oh ok that's our steak fries", to which we both said, "are you sure?" He said yes, and then of course she got steak fries that were obviously not curly. My favorite was them charging for every little thing. My original choice was roasted pork with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. I wanted a baked potato instead, but I was told I would have to order it as a side as there are no substitutions. (Mind you, most of the meals come with your choice of 1 or 2 sides.) So I said, "ok fine with brown gravy I presume?" And the answer was "you can order any gravy you want but you have to pay for it." So I'm forced to have mashed potatoes but you don't include gravy? Whatever, that's why I changed to schnitzel so I could choose my own sides. Also when my daughter got the "curley" steak fries she asked if she could just get the regular curly fries and was told she can pay for it as you ordered the steak fries...🤔 She ordered the steak fries because the waiter told her they were curly. So who's mistake is that? And why should we pay for a waiters mistake?? 🤷 I've included a picture of the ketchup bottle as well as it was crusty and gross. It didn't look like they cleaned it in awhile.

I rarely give bad reviews but want to make sure other travelers along the turnpike who find what looks like a cute German restaurant and think it would be a good stop for the family know what to expect. It’s in a cute German village that had no sign of life while we were there on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was minimally staffed. The fried food was okay, but didn’t seem fresh. The chicken tenders and fries were dry. The kids spaghetti was watery and the meatballs weren’t even covered in sauce and room temperature. The baked tomato soup was chunky, thick, cheesy, nearly white in color and looked very unappealing. I’m not a picky eater and couldn’t eat it. The pretzel bite appetizer was very good, fresh and warm. Our waiter kindly took it off our bill because she’d missed the order.

10/10 would recommend. Never been here before, but we stopped while driving by. It was almost lunch on a sunday (11:45 ish) and the place was not busy at all. The waitress was nice, friendly, and thorough. The food also came out really fast after we ordered. We probably waited maybe 10-15 mins. We had some coffee, the Island Style Cheesesteak, onion rings, and a slice of Toasted Almond Cake. Everything was very very good. I dont even like cheesesteaks, and i liked this one. Onion rings were crunchy and yummy. The cake was also good, even though i much prefer chocolate desserts. We sat outside, and it was honestly quite nice. Lovely weather, and the open are in the middle makes it feel open and roomy. You certainly do not feel like you are on a main road.

This place only get 1 star because of location and the big pretzel. My family and I was looking forward to have dinner here fory birthday. I ordered the veal medallions. Jessica was our waitress and my family was not happy with her. She asked what dressing I wanted for my salad. I asked if they only had basamic vinager only not the dressing. She said yes. When my salad arrived it was the dressing and my salad was wilted and slimy over 1/4 of the greens. Jessica came back I asked about the vinager again then she said they don't have that. Showed her my salad and she said sorry, asked if I wanted another one. I just asked for it to be boxed up. When the food came my veal was breaded but the menu didn't say it was breaded. (I am doing keto) We had to ask for more water. When Jessica was filling the waters she spilt water and said she was sorry. Asked if we need anything else my husband said napkin to clean up the spill that covered our daughter whole place mat. She just dropped the napkins up and didn't even clean the spill up. We had to clean it up ourselves. We asked to speak to the manager and she asked why. I told about my veal being breaded and the menu didn't say it was breaded. She went to the back and came out and said the cook said it wasn't bread that he just put flour on it and sauteed it. I told her that is breading it when you put flour on it. She said she can take it off our bill. I told her we still want to talk to the manager. She said he wasn't there. I said I like to talk to who is in charge. She came back and said he doesn't want to come out. She said he is an angry person and wouldakes things worse. I let her know it is more than my food the I need to talk to him about. I told her about her not cleaning up the spilt water. She said she didn't even know she spilt water. I reminded her she said sorry when she spilt it. That is when she said she isn't going to argue and told us goodbye. That is when I walked up to the bar and asked the bartender "does the manager not come out if a customer has a complaint?" She said they don't have a manager just the owner. Then I asked "Doesn't the owner come out if a customer has a complaint. Because our waitress says he doesn't want to come out." Bartender said I guess not. I just walked away and we will never go back here again. They...

Friendly staff and server very attentive. When we arrived they said there would probably be 20 minute delay in getting our food. No problem- understaffing seems to be chronic issue in food service industry.

Took 30 minutes to get soft pretzel nub appetizer and asked at the 60 minute mark if it would be much longer for lunch order to be ready. Took 75 minutes to get our food. We had to laugh at that point - 5 people in our party - cold sandwiches that two of us ordered came with exactly 5 potato chips. Nothing fancy or homemade- straight out of a bag of chips. Chicken tenders order had 2 medium sized chicken tenders and 12 French fries. Just skinny, short fries that you can get from sheetz for $3 in 10 minutes. One steak that was ordered was cold and chewy. Although in all fairness, we told our kiddo that if you want a good steak, you go to a steak house. Paid the bill and left hungry.

If you only have one cook working - limit your menu. And if you know a party has been waiting an over an hour and customers who came in after them have somehow gotten served first - at least comp their $6 appetizer.

Great staff but food not near good enough for that kind of wait. Wouldn’t go back...
