Came to the restaurant before, when it was Sunmist. I have been seeing Lake St Cafe posts from the business and customers on social media. I am currently 38 weeks pregnant, so I was determined to try it before the baby arrives since I plan to be home for a while.
Parking lot, has plenty of parking. If you absolutely cannot find a spot there is street parking nearby, but this is residential, so not sure that this is recommended. The whole restaurant is beautifully decorated, even the bathrooms. I loved all of the decor, and wall paper. Compared to Sunmist, they definitely did a great renovation, more modern, chic and the art work quotes.
When we checked in and added our name on the list, we were told it would be about 30 to 40 minutes wait for 2 people on a. Sunday around 10:00 AM. We didn't mind waiting since I was determined to try it! They send you a link which was really nice because you could track your place in line! They also send you a text when your table is ready. We were seated much faster than the estimated timeframe. Once seated, it did take awhile for a waitress to stop by, but we did get waters right away. Although it took awhile, the waitress immediately asked are you guys ready to order? Of course we had time to look at the menu since it took awhile, but there was no small talk, like "hello, welcome in, have you been here before, etc." it was just jumped right to our order. I also was bummed about this because it was our first time, I wanted to ask what she recommended. Of course, I still could have asked, but that was not the vibe.
For drinks, I ordered the iced vanilla latte, not bad, nothing special. My husband ordered their freshly squeezed orange juice, this was good, BUT, it was warm. Probably would be better over ice? That could be personal preference. They do have the option not freshly squeezed, but we saw their fancy machine and wanted to try it out. For food, my husband ordered the Lake St. Special. You can see it from the menu, but this is two eggs any style, one slice of ham, two bacon strips and two sausage links & choice of toast or pancakes served with breakfast potatoes. My husband was not crazy about his dish. He said his eggs was cold, and his potatoes tasted as if they had too much adobo (not saying they use this, saying his opinion). I ordered the American Breakfast which is two eggs any style, choice of one slice of ham, three bacon strips, three sausage links or two sausage patties and choice of toast or pancakes served with breakfast potatoes. I did over easy for eggs and choice of bacon, with an upgrade of their fresh berries pancakes (up-charge). I enjoyed my dish and I was happy I upgraded my pancakes. The bacon was sooo good. Overall, I would rate it a 6/10. It is nothing I would go out of my way for, and I don't feel like omg need to go back or omg must try. It's a nice chic, breakfast spot, and good for brunch (they have alcoholic drinks). Good for families too!
One of the photos I included, is a picture of their garlic bread that came with their soup, this...

Plenty of parking and easily accessible coming from both east or west bounds. The building is easily accessible and would accommodate for anyone with special needs.
Ample lobby areas with some seating available for those waiting to be seated.
The decor and presentation is a modern casual semi-upscale breakfast and lunch place. Once you are seated you are welcome into a loud friendly environment.
My family and I got there around 11am. It seemed a bit busy. Some guests had called a head to reserve and other large parties were waiting to be seated. We waited about 30 min to be seated. As we were being shown to our table, we noticed a handful of small tables and booth were available, which made us wonder why the long wait for a party of four. Once seated a kind but distracted service rep took our drink order. The drinks were good. 10 min later, she took our food order. We ordered chilaquiles, pancakes, a burger, and sandwich. Nothing out of the ordinary. An hour later we inquired about the food, and by then the waiter had just been at our table twice to check on us. We ask her if she could rush the kid’s food, and was able to take their food out a few minutes before ours… but still it had been an hour by them. When we got the food and is was ok (not like I imagined after waiting more than an hour), and it was slightly warm. The kids enjoyed their food and were satisfied. We enjoyed our cold brew coffee and the macha tee, but the food was not worth the wait.
If the efficiency were to improve significantly, I’d be fine going back. But the wait is too much for the price and quality. Plenty of our lunch places around the area with much better efficiency and and...

We ordered the stuffed French toast, beef skillet, and their house burger, and each one was outstanding. The stuffed French toast was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with sweetness, while the beef skillet was hearty and satisfying—just the kind of breakfast you want to fuel your day. The house burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor, showing that their lunch options are just as strong as their breakfast.
