We visited this restaurant last night, conveniently located near where we were staying, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, our server, Ashley, welcomed us warmly and fortunately managed to accommodate us even though the restaurant primarily operates by reservation. The ambiance was elevated by live jazz music, creating a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. We began the evening with a bottle of red wine from Ribera del Duero — an excellent choice that paired beautifully with everything we ordered. As a starter, we tried the Chicharrones de Pulpo — small octopus medallions in tempura with a honey aioli. It wasn’t quite what we expected (we imagined something closer to a Galician-style octopus), but it was still delicious, resembling a refined version of fried calamari. The French onion soup that followed was perfectly balanced: flavorful, served piping hot, and the ideal prelude to the main course. The highlight of the night, without a doubt, was the Ceviche. It was a perfect blend of freshness and flavor — juicy, bright, and beautifully presented. The sole was cooked to perfection, and the pomegranate seeds added a burst of flavor that tied the entire dish together. Served with plantain and chips on top, it was simply outstanding. Overall, the service was impeccable, the food was exquisite, and the wine selection was impressive, featuring a variety of regions and styles. The entire experience felt sophisticated yet welcoming — ideal for anyone looking to enjoy an elegant evening after a day by the coast. Highly recommended, and it definitely won’t be our last visit.

I can't say enough good things about Set the Bar in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. From the moment we walked in and were greeted warmly until we left full of great food and wine, the experience was top notch all the way through. Zummy and Renee were prompt, considerate and friendly just to the right degree. Attentive but not intrusive. Zummy's recommendation for the Miraflor Malbec was exactly what I was hoping for. Full bodied with just the right balance between fruit vs. acidic. I started with the Lobster Bisque. It had a deep, rich broth loaded with chunks of lobster meat. I opted for the night's special, locally sourced Caribbean Lobster. Served split and broiled to perfect tenderness and seasoned delicately to let the lobster be the star. And it was! My wife started with the salad with the house Parcha vinaigrette. She loved it! For her entree she chose the filet. She ordered it rare and it came out a perfect red, warm center with a nice sear on the outside. She said it's one of the best steaks she's had. We both opted for dessert even though we were full from the generous portions of our entrees.I had the Vanilla Lavender Creme Brulee. Just the right light touch to end the meal. She had the Chocolate Souffle. Deep, dark and rich. Delicious. Make Set The Bar in Aguadilla your go to for any special occasion. And if you don't have a special occasion,...

This is a great spot with a good selection of wine and liquors, beers etc,,,. You can scoop a bottle and go or you can sit down and enjoy. They have a menu which changes constantly as the chef brings in small amounts of fresh seafood. Oysters, mussels and steaks, lamb chops all depends on what he can bring in. The chef is innovative attentive and professional. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The decor is modern, clean easy on the eye. They have Lounge chairs small table settings to accommodate small groups. I’ve been to this place several times the food and service always on point. I like this Chef he’s always on point and you can actually see the excitement in his eyes when he describes his weekly menu. I’ve tried the beef tartare, oysters, Bronzino, lamb chops, assorted cheese plate to mention a few all good. Definitely recommend I...

What can I say about this place? Let’s start with the positives - the food was good and the ambiance was great. Unfortunately, that's the end of my positives about this place. I feel the intention of this place initially was to start as a restaurant, and the wine and liquor seemed like an afterthought. The server didn’t know much about wines, and they didn’t have a printed menu of what was available by glass vs bottle. The mai that I ordered was least than acceptable. Any wine bar worth its weight would have at least that as a bare minimum. With the absence of a formal menu or price list, they are free to pretty much charge you anything they want. This was a one and done for me, and I wouldn’t give these people any business in the future.
