I've only ordered take out from Carolina Bar-B-Que, but its some of the best in town.
Outside: On the outside the building looks like it is a bit run down and in need of some repairs. However, that's usually how you can tell that a place is going to be really good. The parking lot is not paved, and can be crowded at times. The location is pretty easy to find and getting in/out is not really an issue.
Staff: I haven't had many interactions with staff as I usually just pick up a to-go order. It is easy to order via phone and the person taking orders is patient. I've never had an issue with an order being wrong.
Food: Highly recommend the pulled pork. It re-heats easily as well, we usually get more than we need so we can have leftovers. I've tried the spicy and regular sauce and both are great. It is nice that some comes with your BBQ order for take out. The hushpuppies are great too, and I always eat too many. Best to re-heat those in the oven if you need to. The food is pretty reasonably priced as well. It is in line with what I would expect for a BBQ place that sells by the pound. I wouldn't recommend buying the sides if you are buying by the pound. It is easier to make your own at home or buy some coleslaw from Publix. They are standard sides and nothing special. Its clear that they...
Read moreI’ve only had takeout before this visit. Was quite disappointed in the food and the restaurant itself although the service at the counter was great. Food was cold and dry and not seasoned. For food on a buffet lukewarm food is bad news. It was right at dinner time there’s no reason for room temperature food that should be hot. Then there is the restaurant. Absolutely filthy windows, floors and tables. Our table and seat was covered in sticky mess. Clean the place up people notice dirty walls and cobwebs. There was no music or anything on in the dining room it was just quiet sadness all around. I don’t ever plan to go back after seeing inside. The one positive- it was...
Read moreI know things have changed, but Bar-B-Que down south is never processed in a food processor, and today I'm pretty certain this is how it was done. I've been coming here since the late 1960's and this has been the best for that long. Today, outside of still having the best Hash around the meat was gummy and easy to tell it was not pulled or chopped pork. The world has changed but this 4th I'll be smoking my own butts.... Note: the Service was good, hash and rice, Hushpuppies were great, all the rest I can live without. After today, not certain the'll make it long unless they go back in time about 20 years. Some things don't really need the change and...
