El Patron Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Aiken County

I live very close to this restaurant but hadn't tried it mainly because of covid. They have outside tables that we were going to use but there weren't many people inside at the time (mid afternoon) so we ate inside. I was very pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent! It's the best shrimp fajitas that I have ever had! The sautéed veggies included zucchini and mushrooms and yellow peppers, not jut green; and they were cooked just right with still a bit of crunch. The tortillas were hot and fresh. The beans and rice were standard but it had cabbage with the lettuce. One thing is that the salsa was not hot at all but they had several varieties of hot sauces to spice it up. And the serving size was huge! I have tried so many different foods from El Rincon and have loved every dish! They give the right amount of food for a reasonable price. They have the best tortilla chips I have ever tasted, and their sopapillas are Instagram worthy both in taste and visuals. The best Mexican restaurant in Aiken County. It was clean, the staff friendly and efficient, and the delectable food was served piping hot! The quaint bar, the cheerful colors, and easy parking added to an evening of perfect dining. The Pollo Adobe dish was created with fresh vegetables and the chicken was tender with no gristle or fat. A relief not to battle the noisy traffic of Southside and worth the trip to New Ellenton. Can't wait to return....
