No.1 China — Restaurant in Aiken County

Not sure what happened to this place but seems like they're taking advantage of no restaurants being nearby so there is no competitiveness & seems like they cutting costs and lacking fresh 2 orderness Example 👉🏾 I ordered chicken wings and fries AS SOON as they opened up & when I got my food the chicken wings didn't look like they were just freshly fried and fresh out the grease the fries some of them was dark and really hard didn't have a big crunch but kinda mushy . & From being a cook myself you could tell that more than likely they just refried the food ( chicken ) that they didn't use from the night before . Chicken skin was hard and had that refried taste and feel fries here mushy and hard different sizes and colors . Use to be a great lil place as of lately just doesn't seem like much care is being put into their product I was highly disappointed to order food as soon as they opened expected immediate freshness only to get product which seem to have been reused from the night before . Buisness there could be booming but only them are to blame for lack of great local town support . Do Better "...

We've been ordering from here at least once a month for 4 years and usually, if something isn't right, they correct it. Tonight, one of the items we ordered (something I order every time) had more small breading pieces than chicken. So it was essentially like sauced breading pieces. My husband took it back up there. He walked in while two others were waiting on their food and one of the workers yelled, rudely, "WE'RE CLOSED!" My husband held the box up and tried to explain we just got food from there. The young girl in the front went to the back to tell the old man and he came out screaming at her. She says that he said that's the way it's always done. I guess they don't realize I order this every time. My husband felt so bad about how that man treated that younger girl that he just decided to leave. I don't know what happened to the customer service of this place but we've not experienced this level of rudeness from them before. Especially after spending over $50 for food. (updated review 2/28/2022) Decor leaves a lot to be desired! It's a pretty dirty restaurant in the front with old soy sauce bottles on the tables. That said the food is passable.

Updating 9/27/23 - upgrading the food has improved since I was last here. However the atmosphere still sucks.

The service leads a lot to be desired. The staff seems always to be perpetually rushed or not really invested in building customer relations. If you have repeat customer why not try and get to know them? Small talk...whatever. I've found most of these Chinese locations just are about business and not exactly friendly.

I'm trying to be constructive here because really I think I've always gotten pretty good food here and its better than Hong Kong near Publix which is one of the worst. The egg foo young here is one of the best I've had.
