Snoballs are the frozen dessert in the South, and Pelican's does them right.
First - try a snoball. You will NOT be disappointed, even if you think it's just "sugar ice."
Second - get cream for an extra $0.50. On any flavor. It's a game changer. My favorites are Pellicachino (unique to this location) and root beer float.
Third - bring your kids. Not because they will love the dessert. Not because kids absolutely love the bright colored building. Not because they love to incessantly show you that the color of their tongue matches their snoball. Not because there are giant Jenga blocks, hula hoops, kid-sized Connect Four, a play area, and corn hole. No, bring your kids as an excuse for you to get your new favorite dessert.
What is the only thing that makes an excellent product with great customer service and FREE things to do better? The price.
Your dogs get a snoball for $1. Your kids for $2. Your wife gets a regular for $3. And, although you could get a large for $4, you're bigger than that. You only cost $5 to get the MOASB (mother of all snoballs) - the AVALANCHE. Even though you won't finish it, the picture of you holding a massive mountain of colorful ice will certainly get you many likes on the Facebooks and other...
Read moreSooo i live relatively close to pelicans and often come here the flavors are good and the staff are polite however the ice melts like super fast ( yes i understand that pelicans can't just change the temperature of the area 💀)the reason my reveiw is so low is the fact that i often have trouble pulling into here because of the amount of cars that park in the front as if their legs don't work and they will die if they walk more than two feet. it would be really nice if yall made the front gravelly portion handicap parking only 👍👍 i was almost rear ended bc i was pulling in when somebody was backing out into my lane and my rear end was literally on...
Read moreI grew up a transplant you New Orleans (moved there when I was 10) and quickly came to love their food culture. Snowballs were an integral part of surviving summer in NOLA. Well, I'm back in South Carolina and the summers aren't much better so imagine my joy when some displaced Katrina survivors started opening snowball stands all over the south and all over my city of Columbia!
These are the real deal, people. Authentic New Orleans snowballs--accept no substitutes! Snowcones are garbage, get a snowball.
I especially recommend getting one with sweetened condensed...
