The Backyard Aiken — Restaurant in Aiken County

One brief word of “warning,” before I get to all the wonderful things about The Backyard Restaurant: do not go here if you’re in a hurry! This is a place to sit and be mellow, to relax, and to savor each bite and sip.

Now the good stuff: the chef, Christine, is also a sommelier, and she’s superb at both. The wine actually comes from the wine shop next door, which has a great selection for such a small location, and Christine ensured the wines match the meals. While my wife and I both added a little more salt to our entrees, the all of the dishes were wonderfully seasoned and scrumptious.

Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back next...

We had such a pleasant evening at Backyard last Friday. It's such a quaint, unique place to dine and wine. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, the music puts you in a great mood, sitting outside under the big oak trees in a relaxed atmosphere,......and MOST of all, enjoying fabulous food. We loved everything we had and even had dessert. The passion of the owner is obvious in her presentation of food and how delicious it all is. You can purchase a bottle of wine next door at Solo Vino (owner is a Sommelier) and enjoy it there. We look forward to going there again on our next...

A favorite as always. Added bonus tonight was a vastly improved musical play list! Sea bass and oysters were great.
