On April 19, I placed an order on The Ivy Cottages website, not Teleflora. Shortly after I placed my order I was contacted by Amy from The Ivy Cottage (who I believe to be the owner) stating they do not deliver to Augusta, Ga. If this is the case, the website should never have accepted the order. However, Amy said the order would be cancelled. On April 22, a charge for $53.99 from The Ivy Cottage cleared my acct. I contacted Amy and she claimed the order was cancelled and that I should be getting a refund within 7-14 days and that she never accepted payment on this order. On May 1, I filed a dispute with my bank, as I had not been refunded. Today, my bank has denied my dispute stating I placed the order therefore I need to contact the merchant. Once again I contacted Amy and she acted appalled that my bank denied the dispute as she says she uses the same bank. However, later in the conversation she kept repeating the name of a completely different bank. Now she is stating it could take up to 30 days for this charge to kick back to my account. She went through the entire process online and received confirmation of the order just for someone to call her later and say “there will be an additional $35 for delivery since it’s Mother’s Day.” No where on the website did it say that. It allowed her to book and confirmed her delivery. It is inexcusable for a business to change things up and expect the customer to pay for their mistake. If that is your policy, it should be posted online. If not— that is your mistake and you don’t not honor someone’s confirmed order over it! She was extremely upset, as she should be.
