Aiken County Library — Attraction in Aiken County

The employees were very rude to me and refused to let me return my movies back even though they just said I still have five minutes before they closed but they couldnt take them let back and let me check out my new movies because the computers were down I dont understand why they ddint wait until they were actually closed to turn the computers down. They said they would keep them on hold with me but they had an attitude about everything. I am very disappointed in their poor customer service skills and explanation skills of the rules. I wish we had had a other library in aiken but hopefuly when I come back tomorrow things will be handled better and more respectfully because I have never had this with them before. They are usually are very well run establishment. Hopefully whatever bad day they were having will pass and never come into their work place again. They would prefer that you hand them the books and supervise them scanning the books in. Otherwise, you are likely to end up with a fine because they "rarely" have issues with returned books and it is a "possibility" that you returned the book that day rather than them making a mistake. They don't take responsibility for returning the books and checking to make sure that the books are actually scanned in and not just put on a pad because "the pad sometimes doesn't work". You are told that you have to physically watch them scan and return the books. Second floor staff are outstanding for their knowledge and helpfulness about the library's computer system. At home in Aiken, I was without internet, computer and tv for 22 days due to the hurricane. The library staff oriented me to their computer system, and I relied on that system for online banking, gmail, and some shopping. Use of the printer (black & color) was excellent.
