Big John's Restaurant — Restaurant in Ainsworth

Went to this restaurant on a work trip, looked around for places to eat and researched online. Every review for this place was negative, but somehow we all decided to go there anyway, thinking maybe the previous reviews were too bad to be true. Turns out they were all very accurate... We got our orders taken and after half an hour, we got our food, and that was the last time we saw our server for the rest of the evening. They don't have free refills on their drinks, and they also sometimes don't even give you your drink either! (One of my coworkers ordered a chocolate shake and it never came, and we had no server to ask about it. When we went to the counter to pay, it was sitting behind the counter looking like chocolate milk from sitting there for so long.) Three of us ordered double cheese burgers, and they were huge and actually pretty good. Our other coworker ordered the Big John burger. If you like paper thin patties, the Big John Buger is still not for you...because you need a magnifying glass to see the parties. If you find yourself in Ainsworth, and all the other restaurants burn down and the only place left to eat is Big Johns, you'd be better off eating the grass on...

I've been here two years in a row for a float trip. This place has the literal worst service I've ever seen. The waitress is miserable to talk with and they act like they don't even want you there. They constantly mess up simple orders.

The waitress literally won't say anything but the least amount of words ever. "where do you want these?", me:"here is good, thanks!", drop, walk off, provide no plates, say no words, not come back.

They're out of everything. No brown gravy, no mashed potatoes, etc. They don't want to cook food near closing time. We got here at 8 and they close at 9. Looking at other reviews they close early every day and shut off...

Big John's Restaurant is one of the most Big John's Restaurant I have ever eaten at, I loved the fact that the John on the sign was very big, definitely lived up to the name, the food was good and Big John's special sauce was probably not ketchup mixed with mayonnaise which is always a delight, friendly servers and milkshakes were a welcome surprise even if they seemed to assumed that me and my party were high, we were not to my knowledge, unfortunate that it has the be in Nebraska but no one is perfect, if you ever find yourself inside Big John's Restaurant parking lot you should definitely...
