Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Akron

I got off work around the corner at 630. Came in. Waited in line. Order placed by 6 52. After about a half hour wait I noticed that about 15 or so people who had ordered AFTER me had gotten their meals and went home. After about 45 minutes.. I started to get the feeling they were screwing with me. Making me wait on purpose. I was a manager of a popeyes for 5 years.. I have a pretty good idea of how a kitchen runs in that industry. Especially with being able to see the food and what's ready right in front of me at your counter.

So after about 50 minutes, I asked "is it going to be a bit longer" to which they said "biscuits in 3 minutes"

Finally at the hour mark, I asked if I could have a refund. "But your food is coming up now". By this time I see everyone is smiling n giggling and I get the feeling they are screwing with me. That me waiting for an hour after I get off work is just some big joke, for whatever reason. Im not sure what i did, but after watching another 10 people go I was certain. During the wait the girl with the ponytail m puffy hair went into the bathroom, and you could smell cleaning materials. Once she came out I was hoping she went to the sink to wash her hands before she grabbed mu biscuits. She didn't. Finally the tray of biscuits come out. And it just sits there. I looked at the customers next to me and asked "am I losing my mind? Is she just messing with me on purpose?" I said something to the girl working up front. I said didn't you tell me 15 mins ago you were waiting on 6 biscuits? She says "yes" I said aren't they sitting right there? By this time me and the customers around me are all shaking our head in disbelief. The people in the back all started laughing. When I finally got my food it was wrong. I explained to the girl I got the 8pc dark w the large side of mash.. the cashier rang up 8pc dark w small mash (same price) but refused to give me the correct food or a refund

Look. I worked in fast food for 10 years. If anyone us sympathetic for kitchen employees its myself.

But after that experiance not only do I want a refund, but I will be talking to the higher ups in the morning.

Honestly I was there because I figured it be lively on a Sunday . It was about around the hours when most places of worship would of been finished, after worshipping in church why not go to church's chicken!!!? Well apparently the staff didn't have the same thoughts in mind. I feel like the wait time was around 15 minutes and that was for the person at the front of the line when I first walked in. All the staff was not expecting any sort of rush so maybe my thoughts were a bit flawed. There were several people in line with me and several behind me after two had been served. Three or so people expressed my exact thoughts at the time why would there be no food prepped for an afternoon rush . You could just tell in staffs eyes they were not worried about customers , they were very stand-offish in there mannerisms and just for lack of better words lazy. And I could tell it been like that. What it boils down to is if your expecting to come to this food joint and enjoy it your not . It wasn't worth the wait the whole experience kinda just ruined my ideas of chicken on a Sunday afternoon after church. I normally get my food and leave , but something told me just eat in the car . This gave me a chance to try to at least enjoy my meal hot trying to balance away the I'll feeling everyone around me was also giving off. That didn't even happen. After a few bites and watching even more customers going in and coming out shaking there heads in disgust , well idk what else to say . Well one more thing my dog did seem to enjoy the doggie bag I made up for him don't get me wrong pve seen him turn his head for other human foodies so I guess add another star ⭐ somewhere for decent doggie bag . Will I try it again yes but definitely a different location. Thank you for reading my rantasy......

I encountered very rude and very disrespectful employees at this location. I came here to order food and on line they said they close at 9pm we got there after 8 it wasn’t no where close to 9 and they say we are close. And go say if you want a side dish we can offer you that. We didn’t come there just for no side dish. And they looked me and my mother dead in our faces and lied and said they were close. If you all were close like you claim to be then why was the doors unlocked? Why do you guys hours say you close at 9pm who ever is running this business isn’t running it correctly. That turns customers away all because you guys don’t wanna work. If you don’t wanna work then sit at home all day don’t work. But I did not like the interaction that me and my mom encountered yesterday. Just very rude and disrespectful. And for that you all lost my business for good I will never step one foot back in this place. And keep on being rude pretty soon ain’t no one go want to eat here. Iam so disappointed. Looked us dead in are face and lied and the one woman that was just standing off looking at my mom all stupid like she never seen no one eyes run because of how cold it was out side was also very rude.
