Primos deli in Akron Ohio was perhaps my wife’s favorite restaurants on our tour of the biggest cities in Ohio. According to her the Reuben sandwich was the best, by the way this is from favorite sandwich, that she ever had in her life. What makes it so good you ask? According to my wife it was the bread.

I ordered for Chicken salad sandwich. Perhaps a regional thing we are not familiar with, their chicken salad is made with pineapple in it & is distinctly sweet. Unfortunately that was not what I expected and it really did not appeal to me.

We ordered the coleslaw and potato salad to split. Here again, the potato salad was something different, sweet but not like it was made with sweet potatoes. Suffice to say this was not appealing to us either. The Coleslaw was good but not remarkable.

The highlight of this meal - after the Ruben - was the carrot cake. Delicious and an excellent size potion which we split.

The price of our lunch was $30 which we felt was quite reasonable.

Would we go back? Definitely. We would perhaps pick other things and asked to sample them but the quantity and quality of the food was excellent. Additionally the service was quite good.

Although we are not very familiar with all of Akron, the location seemed a little bit off the path. Nonetheless we would make our way there should we return to Akron in the future.

This deli definitely gets high marks from us and our...

This was my 1st time trying Primo's, although I've driven past it for decades. I LOVE corned beef Reubens, so I wanted to give them a try. The shop is clean and the employees are VERY nice and helpful! I appreciated having to wait for my order, because I knew it was being made fresh. The Ruben came with a bag of Snyder's chips & a dill pickle + and extra side of dressing for 9.99 takeout only. They do accept debit cards for payment. The sandwich was on grilled rye bread. The Russian dressing was ok, but bland. The kraut was ok, but again blad, lacking it's signature bite. Comparing this ruben to others I've tried it was just ok. For me, it lacked the signature flavors I have come to love with traditional ruben sandwiches. I was also hoping for the cost, there would have been more meat.

Overall the sandwich was ok, the service was excellent, but I wouldn't buy that sandwich from them in the future. Would I try something else from there? Perhaps, but on this go round, the service was more memorable than the sandwich, which was kind of a bummer. I also don't feel it was worth the cost, but that's just...

This used to be my favorite deli spot and would wait for a table no matter what. On special occasions this was often my first suggestion, lately not so much.

The last few times the food quality was not what I'd come to expect and everything has shrunk to half of what you used to get. Meat is fatty, cheap grocery store like bread instead of the nice rolls... Prices go up so businesses try to cut corners, everyone understands that but why ruin such a place! I'd rather see a value menu and as necessary a higher price on traditional menu items at the level they had always been. Same with that tiny little 1/2" wide $6 slice of cheesecake... It used to be so good I'd order two there and two to go. The last time I was in I swear it was one of those boxed nobake chill and serve versions.

The manditory bottle opening service is also silly... I'll pay the $3, sure but everytime I end up having to open the bottle myself anyway. Just one of those stupid house rules for no reason that also detracts from an otherwise good...

This somewhat homely (quirky?) deli is such fun to visit. The decor is eclectic, with large beverage coolers providing some of the visual interest. The beer selection is surprisingly huge and interesting. You get a basket of the most delicious institutional no brand potato chips that are seriously some of the best chips ever. The menu is typical deli fare - bagels, sandwiches, subs, soups, etc... My absolute favorite is the lox and cream cheese on a toasted bagel. My husband swears by the pulled pork. It always looks good but I just can't pass up the lox. Give this place a try; you won't regret it!

I heard about this place and thought I would give it a try. Sign out front says #1 sub akron. #1 of what? I ordered the best selling hot Italian. I didn't realize they were going to grill the meats. It seemed rather greasy from frying. Was loaded with both red and white onions had to strip them off too overpowering. A deli should have a good crisp pickle. I think they are serving droopy Vlasik out of jars. Pickle was a one bite and toss away. I can't believe I would rather go to subway than here again.
